Now, see, if this was an Alabama game we were talking about, you'd say that Bama fans were just making excuses..... Maybe say something about Mercer forcing those fumbles because the running backs were weak or some shit...lol.

I'll tell you a couple close games.

Texas A&M vs Alabama=Close game
Miss State vs Alabama=Close game

Auburn vs Alabama=Not a close game

 

lol... remember that LSU vs Troy game?

Those games are for the other team to make some money, get some attention, and allow the big team to rest some players before a big game (Auburn was the next week). Also, to pick on Alabama when every FBS team does the same thing is a bit hypocritical.

 

Wanna know some more close games, all of which have something in common?

Auburn vs Clemson, close game........ Loss
Auburn vs LSU, close game.........Loss
Auburn vs Georga #2, wait....not a close game, but..............Loss.

 

I really don't know why I'm wading into this crap again, but the score of the A&M game was 27-19 (8 points), MSU was 31-24 (7 points), and Auburn as 14-26 (12 points). Those ranges are pretty similar... so only 4 points makes it "Not a close game"?

 

Seems that Alabama has proven to be able to win in close games....Of which Auburn cant.

 

As it has been the past 4 years. Bama will go play in the playoffs again while Auburn plays in their annual participation bowl.

 

Again you have to watch games to understand what a close game is, both Texas A&M and State either was winning late in the 4th or had the chance to tie it up on the last play.

Auburn put this game away in the 3rd and Alabama had no chance of coming back a 2 possession score. So no it was not close, as many if not all commentators have said.

 

How do you feel about Clemson this year? Any updates on injuries?

 

Well if you can make excuses for Auburn's fumbles in the Mercer game, had Alabama not fumbled snaps, it is possible they'd won. There was a chance. You of all fans should know that it isnt over until the clock reads zeros.

 

We obviously wont be at 100% by the game but we will at least be close. Not having Shaun Dion Hamilton really hurts us more than any of them though. I have said it all year though, I would rather have experience over "stars" every day of the week. Him being a signal caller and getting others into position as well as him always seeming to be around the ball was really missed against MSU and AU. Obviously, Clemson's strength this year is their D. They have the best front 7 in the country in my opinion. I will never go against my team, but if Daboll doesn't come into this game with a more complete game plan than he did against Auburn, I don't have a good feeling about it. I believe our D can contain Clemson's offense as long as our offense is able to stay on the field long enough to give them a breather. Gonna be a good game again and prolly come down to the final possession for the 3rd year in a row.

 

I did watch them... all of them. You still did not answer the question. If you are using the whole "stats really say who won the game", then Clemson won two years ago as well.

I won't disagree that Bama did not play all that great in those three games, but they were all at the other team's stadium and the other team probably played one of their better games.

You're saying Auburn played a great game against UGA in Atlanta? I doubt you would and I would think most folks think UGA played a great game.

Not having Hamilton is a really tough loss. I really don't think most folks realize how much he did for the defense.

 

Agreed. Only one of those fumbles counted though because we had 12 men on the field.

I did not see a shook up Hurts bringing them back in that crowd environment. Alabama was in a spot where they had to throw the ball and that was something they could not do.

 

I'm not sure it will be close. Clemson is clicking. Dabo is doing a great job.

No Auburn did not play a good game in Atlanta in the stats and score show that. I never said they did.

 

While I'm not nearly ready to question Saban's ability to coach, Clemson is built on a solid foundation to consistently compete in all aspects of CFB. I don't feel as though they have reached the point of setting the standard that Alabama did, they are definitely working in that direction. Alabama had a down year, with one loss late to Auburn, and honestly, the team doesn't give the impression of being all on the same page. Clemson should win and it very well may be in hand the entire game.

 

Haha, depends on the definition of "close" I reckon. I just don't see a Saban coached team being "blown out". The most Bama has lost by under Saban is 14. OK and Utah both in the......*clears throat* Sugar Bowl.

 

Is Pruitt going to be staying through the playoffs?
