    Thank you Camel89

Trying to decide what route to go. I really don't want to wait a month to get it. And I want one that is of good quality. Kinda nervous about going this route, but the price is definitely attractive.

Mine came like this too. I ordered white stickers for it anyways so I'm not worried about the two letters not being black background. also considered painting it myself with black model paint but figured the sticker's will cover it anyways. Couldn't be happier considering price paid

Depends on how much soap and "wash-mitting" you do to it. I would reapply to be safe. It's basically the consistency of Armor-All but with less shine but better quality.

I got mine from this guy too. Mine delivered yesterday after ordering on 11/24. Packaged nicely and has the detachable Toyota piece.

Received my replica grill today 12/13/17. Ordered from grillpro on eBay on 12/8/17. Five days shipping time from China is ridiculous! Kudos to Bruce the Recamera at Areyourshop-a for being the Grillpro!

Mixed feelings about the grill, but what you get what you pay for at $140 vs. $385, but who knows if OEM is any better.

    • Two-piece grill; came detached.
    • Letters are definitely painted with silver paint. They are NOT molded, silver plastic.
    • Small blemishes in the silver paint on the T & A.
    • A few mold marks and flashings here and there. A little trimming and sanding required.
    • Main part of grill appears to be painted. Hard to tell. No way around that, I suppose. It's done to make it look smooth and finished. I'd be curious to know if the genuine OEM part is painted. Someone please chime in. Otherwise I plan on looking at one on the wall at the dealership.

    20171213_115727_resized.jpg 20171213_115650_resized.jpg 20171213_115621_resized.jpg

First pic shows the some silver paint marks on the back side of the letter surround. Second pic shows one of the blemishes in the paint. Third pic shows the largest "flashing" of plastic.

Personally, I don't expect this grill to last very long. Between all the painted parts, I expect this grill to be pitted up pretty good even by bugs. UV exposure is another thing.

I feel that it is also very lightweight, making it seem very brittle. Again, not sure how the genuine OEM part is in comparison. I haven't taken the stock "cheese grater" grill off yet, but after handling the replica grill, I would put my money on the stock grill being more durable.

Which brings me to an idea: If the genuine OEM part is molded exactly the same and painted exactly the same, then perhaps Toyota made the conscious decision to only put these grills on a version of the Tacoma that certainly is not widespread. Therefore, any failures and/or degradation of the TRD-PRO grill would not result in widespread dissatisfaction or an insane number of factory recalls. Just my $0.02.

Like I stated before I knew what I was getting myself into and I'm okay with making this purchase. However I'd be happier with the two piece that has better construction. How is the quality after sticking the letters on? For some reason I imagine them falling off or getting away from me based on the way they stick on.

Look at it this way. Every factory badge on your truck is held on with 3m double sided tape. So I would expect the letters to hold nearly as well.

Just got mine. It has the press on letters as well. The one guy on here talking about it not being UV friendly got me thinking. So this is what I did.

    Matte clear coat.

After seeing some of the complaints. I’m even more happy I got the OEM.

I live in Charlotte,NC and so far, I haven’t seen another TRD Pro Grille on TRD OR trucks. I’ve caught a few TRDOR owners checking mine out at Stop lights though. It’s good to be different.

If you’re worried, use 3M VHB tape, it will never come off, ever.

The OEM pro grille wasn't without issues. It may not of had the different letters, but how many were received with multiple broken tabs? To me the cost difference offsets the risks. Extra flashing is easy to remove. I have the stock grille for now, once the bubble pops on the initial rush, I'm gonna swoop in and get one for $75 or less. At that price, I can buy 5 and still be ahead of the OEM costwise.
Oddly, I almost never see a pro grille except on a pro here where I am. I have seen one bamf grille though.

It is a much better look that's for sure. I don't think anyone who spent more on OEM should feel bad. If I had the money to buy it I wouldve. As for no one else having it that's because North Carolina.
