I just recently installed the KB Voodoo one; fairly quick and easy install, retains your factory key fob. There is one small down side though, and I believe as of right now this is true for all aftermarket remote starts for 3rd gens (security thing)... which is that as soon as you open the door, the truck shuts off. It's a mild inconvenience, but a small price to pay for getting into a warm truck.

12 volt solutions plug and play kit. Super easy installation - it truly is plug and play. Retains the same key fob, same issue with opening a door tho. It works for what I need it for which is being able to start my truck from inside my house or office. Range is the same as your remote already is, and only one way.

How long does the truck run before shutting off if you leave it running just from starting it with the remote starter?

I second this plug and play solution. Super easy install since there’s no splicing and wire-tapping involved.

KbVooDoo for me. Super easy install, only a beer and a half. Only issue I had is I didn’t strip my 12v good enough the first time so the unit wasn’t getting solid power. After I re stripped it I have not had an issue since.

Installed the KB Voodoo one today. It wasn't super involved, as long as you are comfortable partially stripping some of your wires while lying on your back in a tight area with minimal lighting. The worst part was that it was only 20 degrees out when I installed it!

Overall, I think it's a pretty good remote start option, and the price is reasonable. The only downfall, as somebody already mentioned, is that once you open the door the engine turns off. I had to call the company this morning to make sure I installed it right, because that didn't happen in my '12 Grand Cherokee. He told me that it is a safety feature, and there is no way to defeat it.

Overall, I highly recommend it. If you can install a car stereo, you can install this.

I have the 12 volt solutions one and later I added the viper smart start module so I can control it from my phone. Both were plug and play and super easy. Sure I paid more for the plug and play feature, but I figure if there are ever electrical issues or anything I need to have looked at under warranty I can remove it easy enough. Literally took me 5 minutes from opening the package to being done.
