Where I live my welding supply shops suck, but if you find a cool one they should have all the parts including gauges to make it work. Only thing they might not have is a shrader chuck, but I am sure some even have them.

In theory having them fill a cylinder(your CO) is no different than them filling my 10lb argon tank. BUT they are use to having blow off valves as insuranc and as such might not take the necessary precautions to keep your CO from blowing a seal.

I would trust a dirtbike shop to fill my COs more than a Gas shop employee.

Yeah he obviously had no idea what he was talking about. Kinda felt bad for him after I told him that the same service shop he works for replaced my needle bearing under warranty not more than 3 months ago... You could see it in his face how stupid he felt.

Yep. Most shop air is regulated at 120 psi which isn't enough to charge a shock. Even if you have a higher regulator, atomospheric air is not inert and contains water vapor. Which leads to contamination and rust. Both nitrogen and argon are inert. However, nitrogen is significantly cheaper to produce. It's takes something like over 80% more energy to create pure argon than pure nitrogen.

Check with BAMF, I thought I saw that they charge them. Benica is not to far away if they do.

I just had my SAW's charged at the shop that rebuilds my dirtbike suspension, superplush in the city. I had a hell of a time finding a shop around east bay, Berkeley area that does them.

I’m thinking of investing in the equipment to do it myself. So nice to be able to just pull the shocks, mess with them and reinstall right away. I luckily have a fab friend 10 min away that charges mine but hate bothering him each time.

You can buy a pre plumbed setup or piece one together. Parts and a tank for less than 200.00 from what I've seen.

I wanted one of those V10 TDI Touareg’s once upon a time. Might still want it.

I got my filled tank, regulator, hose, and NAL chuck for less than $200. I'm still on the first tank of nitrogen. And I bought it over 6 years ago. Nitrogen cavities are so small on shocks it doesn't take a lot. And we're talking over 100 shock charges between all my rigs and work I've done for other people.

So what you’re saying is you’ve handled a lot of other peoples shaft for not a lot of money...

Purely observational. But you do seem to be quite innundated with the shafts I handle. No judgement however.
