Oh I know it’s not Mike’s wife but both he and John seem to have crazy neighbors/random people.

Some generic Weber garlic & herb seasoning. When I bake one, I usually use butter, garlic, thyme, salt, rosemary

    I need some opinions.
While driving down a narrow street, I saw a car parked on the right side of the street. I saw a mother, a child, and a small white dog. The mother and child were getting groceries out of the passenger door. I slowed down and went to the farthest left on the road I could and creeped by. I felt a thunk, heard a scream, looked in the mirror and saw the mother drop a pizza. I'm stopped approximately 15 feet from them. I get out and see there was a second dog. It ran after my truck and got in front of my rear right tire.

I went up to them and told them I was truly, genuinely, sorry. The girl was screaming her head off. Saying things just barely short of you killed my fuck in dog. I had no idea what to do.

Was it my fault for not seeing the dog? Did I drive too slow? Should I have stopped on the street and made sure they were fully secured before passing? Should I make it up to them? Do I get them a new puppy?

I'm kind of torn up right now.

They should have had the dogs on leashes. It's too bad and I can understand how awful you feel but it is the irresponsibility of the owner in this case.

I’m a total dog lover but also realize that my dog is an idiot and has no street smarts. Not much you can do. Besides, you slowed for people, but to run over the dog.

I’d feel really bad, but it would end there. If it was a friends dog that I knew and it was not just a dog in the middle of the road, that’s a different story. The I’d replace the dog.

Either way, it sucks to run over a dog, unless it was attacking someone

Let me preface this by saying that I'm a huge dog person to a fault, I love doggies of all kinds.

That out of the way, it's a terrible situation and a real shame but I don't think it's your fault. Untrained dogs need supervision if they are anywhere near a road. People can say "no they don't" and piss and moan all they want, but it's a fact. Untrained dogs simply do not do smart things in relation to vehicles. Limit the visibility and limit the time to react to basically 0 and it's going to end in tears.

You clearly showed due care slowing down and getting over. It sucks to be sure, but coming to a stop would probably have been overly cautious. If you truly crawled past, as in, speed barely registering on the speedo, you were 100% within your rights to continue moving given what you were able to see.

I wouldn't say you owe them anything, if you got them a new puppy they'd probably be cold and distant towards the thing and/or not learn their lesson about not letting doggies walk on out into the road, which is now putting two dogs into a sad situation.

/oh and for what it's worth, get a dash cam if you don't already.

In the eyes of the law you’re gravy.... dog off leash is considered a dog at large and is actually a misdeameanor

Don’t get me wrong, I love dogs. Most of you on here know my dog and like her a lot more than me. But that situation is a distracted mother who shouldn’t have let the dog roam and wander away. I say you have no obligation to buy them a new dog, compensate them, etc.

Check your plan online and see what you should be getting vs what speed test says.

I feel it’s their fault. I’ve had the same thing happen while driving with my dad and we said sorry and continued. Their dog chased after my dads f250 and it was done for. Obviously their fault for not having it on a leash. I love dogs too but if the owners not smart they shouldn’t have em

IDK how good these numbers are, but we rarely have issues.

Oh just as a general note to the geeks out there, the best "practical" speed tester I found out about is https://fast.com/

Someone had the bright idea of putting a speed tester on the Netflix server- you see, a lot of ISP's out there prioritize traffic to and from speedtest.net to make you think you are getting faster 'net than you think you are, to the point of it going above and beyond your rated bandwidth.

But when you put it on the Netflix server... your ISP would have to prioritize Netflix to pump their numbers up! And yeeeah, they won't do that. Ever.

It will also catch them red handed if they're throttling your streaming.

I pay for 100Mbps Cable, speedtest tells me I'm getting ~120, fast says about 95.:D

I guess this probably has something to do with it, and download speed is only 50mbps so I guess I’m probably in the ball park of where I should be?
