Well, it looks like I've fulfilled one of my dreams. I made worthy contributions to both the first gen and third gen forums!

I had to order mine. Dealership said they didn't order quick sand as stock because they thought the colour wouldn't appeal to people. Boy were they wrong. My truck sat at the dealership for a few weeks while I was overseas and they got so many questions about it and people wanting one.

I didn't set out to buy an orange truck when I went to go looking around. I really wanted a 4 cylinder SR base model and color didn't matter too much because all of their colors are good IMO.

The only problem is that they didn't have an SR on the lot. Then I found my exotic orange beauty. It was the only 4 cylinder on the lot and I tried to act like I didn't like the color of it to get a deal on it. Deep down I knew I really wanted it. And the tactic of "I can take the ugliest truck you have there off of your hands for $25,000", didn't work. They weren't going to sell an SR5 for an SR price. But I tried.

My wife helped to collapse my haggling tactic by saying "what are you doing...you deserve a good car." Ha...geesh thanks sugar booger for undermining my method here. She was like "what the hell is wrong with you...just get it."

So in a weird way I wound up with an orange truck configured in a way I wouldn't have allowed myself to think of. It's one of the best car buys I've had, and it wasn't based on what I did or didn't pay, but rather what I got.

Bought off the lot because none of my local dealers would order except one and the time to take delivery was too long to go without a vehicle. Thankfully I found the EXACT truck I wanted down to trim and accessories sitting on a lot ~250 miles away.

Ordered Oct 2015. Received Jan 2016.

2016 DCLBOR. Quicksand. No premium/tech. Sunroof was a deal breaker. Wanted a MT, but I was ok w/the auto.

Side note: Every time I see a Cement, it's the only color I like more than QS.

Those are awsome colors. I'm starting to see these colors in other makes and models of cars like SUV's.

I had been kind of looking and researching for months . Test drove one months before, then a Manual TRD sport showed up. Well, I just buckled.I wanted either quicksand or white, so white it was. Haven't looked back.

Told my local dealer that if they could find me a 2017 Inferno TRD Offroad AC I'd buy it. They called me back the next day and said they found one; I returned to the dealer on Sept. 25, 2017 and drove the new baby home. :)

I ordered because my "no compromise" points made it a struggle. I wanted a blue access cab manual. They could find me blue manuals, they could find me blue access cabs, but not both.

Once I decided to order it became a lot easier to not worry about compromising on what I wanted. I got the interior color I wanted most, the packages I wanted most, the OEM tonneau, etc.

They had exactly what I wanted/needed on the lot. :taco:

(Very briefly considered a T4R, then remembered I need to haul furniture, garbage, recycling, garden supplies, rocks, logs and power equipment.)

I searched for 2 months and had to drive 300 miles to get my PRO in a manual. Love it.

Bought my 2017 DCSB 4X4 Off Road Automatic Quicksand in Feb. Usually order a vehicle but they had exactly what I was looking for so bought off the lot. I like manual but wife and daughter will be driving so had to go with automatic. These trucks are worse than AR15's. You just can't quit modding them. At first I was really disappointed with the way the auto shifted and still think it shifts into overdrive too fast but have got used to it and have learned to keep my foot on the trottle so it will make power. I've only got 2300 miles on it as I have a company car to drive most of the time but the Taco's shifting habits seem to have improved. I am glad I bought it. Now I just hope that some idiot doesn't run into it. Half the people on the road seem to be playing with a "smart" phone. The other half sit on your rear bumper so they can get to the job they hate 30 seconds faster. Go figure!

Where's the both option? I ordered a trd sport dcsb in inferno in fall of '15. Took about 8 months to come and they jacked the price up on me so I told them to keep it. In Feb' 17 after searching for awhile I found the one I wanted and bought it off the lot.

I ordered mine, but the dealer found one at another dealer in my state, so I got it in 4 days instead of 3 months.
