Double Cab PreRunner without locker

How many of you out there like myself, have a Double Cab PreRunner without the locking rear differential? Just curious.................

 

locker is only available with the trd package but not on the 4cyl

 

I don't think I have a locker and mine is a 6cyl trd sport. If I do tell me how to know please.

 

The locking differential was never a part of the TRD Sport Package.

 

That's what I thought. It's part of the TRD Off Road Package....Right?

is it a hard thing to add?

 

Aftermarket ones like ARB aren't that hard. Kind of expensive though. I don't know about 2nd gens, but the 1st gen locker housing is different than the open dif ones, making a swap to the factory e-locker hard unless you swap the whole axle.

 

the 1st gens didnt come with the sport package, just prerunner or trd prerunner, so odds are you probably have a reg prerunner. the 2nd gens on the other hand have a trd package and sport package. the trd come with the rear locker and the sport comes with limites slip differential. there is no such thing as a trd sport edition, they are both sep packages

 

unless your a avid off roader, its really not worth the money

 

Yes, I have a prerunner without a locker.

 

Well, no ... From 2005 onward there were two TRD-labeled packages:

- TRD Off-Road Package
- TRD Sport Package

There hasn't been a 'Sport Package' option (no mention of TRD) since 2001 or 2002.

I don't have one, I have the Prerunner SR5 non-TRD anything

 

I have a prerunner trd offroad and I have never used the locker =P

 

I have one! Sooo awesome its really does help when climbing dirt hills. I wouldnt have bought one with out the TRD package.

 

ill trade you rear axles. i have gotten stuck maybe six times and almost got stuck 10 other times. i have one wheel drive pre-runner
