After seeing the trash on the north shore of the Olympic peninsula, I’d suspect trash from Japan and China. They’ve done current and drift surveys and lots of their stuff floats this way.

Some stuff. Not a lot, just some.
There are boats from Japan that have washed up after the Tsunami on the west coast. Under the right conditions, I don't think it's a far stretch to say body parts would make it also.

Truly bizarre. I've been reading about it for years. Just when I've completely forgotten about it, it happens again!

We had a company commander that announced her command time was being extended 6mo, the formation actually groaned... loudly. The 1SG lost his shit.

Morale had been epically for low her whole tyrannical rule. Months prior to the extension, and before the initial command cycle was done, we got our WARNORD for Iraq. That Friday we had a change of command.

I was the new commanders driver for 99% of the deployment. He confided in me, one dark night in a bad part of town, that she was ushered out so quickly because there was "significant and creditable worry that something may happen to her."

    I concurred.

A short while before that I was at NTC during the fielding of the first Strykers. While at Irwin, the whole BDE (it seems) was doing hands across the desert looking for a 'lost' PVS14. Turns out a soldier walked into the desert with his NODs and a shovel, dig a hole, buried it, took the Art 15, and joins the rest of his company wishing the commander good luck on his relief for cause.

yep, or basically forced to retire...depending on how severe whatever it was got him in trouble. Many times its failed or marginal on an ORI or something similar where its not necessarily his fault but since he's the commander he gets/takes the blame. Then other times he's guilty

What year was that?! I was there in '88 or '89 and remember we were all packed and ready to leave but the place got locked down. Everyone had to, as you put it, "walk the desert". We were steaming as it was hot as fuk and we wanted to go home. Luckily the issue resolved itself before we had to go for a walk.

Setting the "way-back" machine to 1990, the 12th AF commander kept trying to get into the pants of his lead admin, an active duty (single and extremely hot) SSgt. She kept refusing him, and reported it. Nothing happened. Then a (married) reservist came forward and stated that she'd had an unprofessional relationship with the very same (married) 3-star. Almost the next day, the TAC commander (a 4 star) showed up, fired his ass, and hauled him off to DC to answer some questions. I worked in the HQ building, and it was insane. One moment the commander was there and next it was like he'd never existed.

The reservist was denied reenlistment. Turns out that the "one time" dalliance had been going on for a year, and that she only spoke up when the promised promotion didn't happen.

The SSgt proceeded about her career like nothing had ever occurred. I ran into her later (we were stationed at the same base) and she was a MSgt. Career proceeded normally like the event never occurred.

Lesson: don't fuck people you ain't supposed to. Period.

    Just FYI -
Hoarding IS an Obsessive Compulsive Disorder.

Mania and depression together = Manic Depressive Disorder = Bipolar Disorder. All the same thing. :boink:

If you put the balls on the other end that would make a great trailer jockey. Seriously might need to take a better look at it, it seems a better solution to what I have in the works.

Wasn't disputing that, just pointing out that OCD isn't just for people who compulsively clean. Cat lady hoarders are OCD too.

I'm sure there's an OCD for people who compulsively correct Internet posts.
