    I did already. Everything looks good, but I'm confused about the difference between PN 11188-62010 and 11183-62010. Gunny says he missed that and will add that to my order. I'm guessing one of these are the half moons and the other are the camshaft plugs.

    I have been told the 3.4L doesn't have as big of a need for valve clearance checks. Is this true?

    Neither of them have “huge” needs but it’s pretty dumb to be all the way in there and not check imo

    All exhaust valves wear tight over time and itd suck to burn one up only a few k miles after being in there. Easy to check and replace shims

    I want to say that's a 4 cylinder problem only. I don't believe the 3.4L has this issue... someone correct me if I'm wrong

    You are wrong the valve train is similar and from time to time does need to be checked or adjusted it only takes and hour to check your clearances and if you do and ensure your in spec you’ll probably be good for another 100k

    You don't need the 11183 half moon plugs, they are aluminum and you just clean them up and rvt them back in. Unless u got more money them time and don't want to bother cleaning off the old rvt.
    The 11188 cam seal plug you will need.
    Basically the heads are machined universal to fit both sides so you have to plug up the holes that are not used on the side there on.

    I would also do spark plugs and wires unless u have done them recently.

    Not sure why u would need the 90080 bolts ether clean them up and put new washers on.
    Unless they are super rusty or something and u think u may ruin some.

    I did them recently, same with PCV valve and grommet. Thanks for the info. I think I am good to confirm with Gunny my order.

    I overtightened mine, and after hearing of people stripping the heads off, I'm going to assume I've weakened mine so I'm gonna just get new ones.

    Bolts don't need to be replaced. Order 1 or 2 half moons - they might be brittle - I chipped one, but luckily had a blown engine that I could scavenge one from.

    The camshaft plugs are the full circle plugs on the backs of the heads. You only need 2 of them. The semi-circular plugs are the half moon plugs on the front and rear of each head. You can reuse those semi-circular plugs. You just have to clean them up and then reseal them with FIPG or RTV.

    I'm pretty sure my FelPro valve cover came with new valve cover bolts.

    I used the part numbers from the links I posted, and completed my VCG job this past spring. I dunno why those weren't working for you?

    FWIW I replaced my half moons with new ones, they were cheap enough and I didn't want to have to clean the old ones. Call me lazy, but there were only a few bucks.

    I have been shopping for Gen 1 Tacos and Gen 2 T4Rs, and that is the best info I have found regarding a very common problem on these engines. The majority of V6's I have looked at on these older trucks have had severe valve cover gasket leaks.
