I'm glad I'm not the only one! When I first moved to NH I got pulled over and made to remove the window tint, which was professionally installed, so not an easy task, on the spot by the prick cop.

Did he make you remove it to avoid getting a ticket? What was his purpose for having you remove it on the spot?

A friend of mine gets hassled about his tint regularly at inspection time now, but when he tells them to check it if they're so concerned it always reads legal.

Nobody's ever said a word about mine. Not sure what it reads, but mine looks a little lighter than his so I'm sure it's fine.

I love that song! It is hilarious!

Earl Dibbles Jr is supposed to be a parody of a country boy. So it is at most semi-serious.

If you like this one, check out Merica by him. He's got a bunch of good country songs, but his Earl Dibbles Jr. songs are hilarious.

The cop that pulled me over was going to give me a rather expensive ticket, plus mandatory inspection at a state facility. Figured it would be easier to remove it, have it redone later.

He told me I could either peel it off right then and there or he could call a wrecker to take it away and I could walk. Guy was a real prick about it, it was legal tint in MA but in NH the law says ZERO tint on the front windows.

Damn... were you plated in NH at the time? That seems really surprising that they could tow a vehicle for illegal tint. I would have likely done as you did, easier to appease him and drive away than deal with his shenanigans... Me thinks someone was making up laws as they went.

Yes, I was a new NH resident at that time, with NH plates and it was inspected in NH too. I had no idea it wasn't legal, would have been nice for the inspection station to tell me. Yes, I decided to not rock the boat and peeled it off right there.

I knew my 15% was illegal on the front windows, considering RI doesn't allow any tint there at all. I used to roll down the windows if I knew I was passing a cop. This guy came out of nowhere!

    Unpopular opinion here re: tint.

Tint has always been one of those modifications that will get you hassled, whether it be pulled over more, failing inspection, tickets, etc. Why knowingly go through the hassle by running tint that's below legal limits? I can understand some of the reasons, but I don't fully comprehend why it's worth the frustration. I'd much rather either have none at all (I've never had a vehicle tinted) or go well within the legal means.

I'm aware I'm in a bit of a glass house throwing stones as all my cars have had aftermarket exhaust systems that technically are not allowed relative to MA Chapter 90, but those seem to draw less attention than tint.

I know earlier we talked about TPMS sensors being different for alloy vs steel wheels. These are my sensors. All 5 have the same exact info on them. (On the flat side with the sticker).
