I did Kane creek in a cliffhanger rental jeep on my spring break in college. That is one of my favorite trails ever.

Kane creek is sick. It’s not the typical Moab sand stone. You start off in a dezert and end up driving through the bottom of a canyon. And wooder crossings/ creek running for dayzz

For me my favorites for wheeling challenges Cliffhanger for sure. God that was a fun and tough trail. But scenery with challenges, trifecta easily. Plus that time I saw that guy almost die at the crack is kinda something I'll never forget.

Kane creek was the second trail I did my first time out there in 2012. The first was Hells Revenge.

I loved Hell’s Revenge. I’ll do that again if I make it back next year for sure.

I haven't gotten that far yet. :anonymous: Life's been getting in the way and I haven't been able to write.

TL : DR version is a dude tried to jump it with a dirt bike, bike bogged and he hit the edge, and fell 7-8 feet into the crack after slamming his face/head on the rock face on the way down.

    The look of panic:

[IMG]IMG_8225 by Michael Halat, on Flickr

It was crazy seeing a huge dude and dirt bike disappear from view into the crack.

It doesn't look that deep or wide, but it is.

Here's a 6 foot tall man almost covered by the crack, and where the dude went down, it's deeper.

Is that a perfectly timed shot, or taken from a video?

That was me trying to take a video but snapping one sole photo. The reason I even had the camera out to begin with was because he did it successfully with his helmet on on his own bike that you see off to the right. But that was a two stoke with instant power and the bike he was trying to get across was one of his kid's (i think) and a 4-stroke which doesn't react the same way when you give it a little blip.

Nice. The photo I mean. Not the crash.

At least he didn’t scratch his helmet.

That's what I was looking at.

You have a one piece DS correct?

What's the reason? Amount of lift or less to break.

I have a one piece as an attempt to eliminate driveline vibes. I first did the Ranger poly center bearing and spaced it down to make it work (there’s a thread on this somewhere).

The vibes got worse, and I was afraid it would get caught on something in the trail and really screw things up.

That’s where the one piece came in. Still get vibes between 85-95 MPH. But, I don’t need to be going that fast anyway. That’s with 35s, and 4.56s. Your results may vary. On 33s the vibes were between 80-90 MPH.

Linked rears are just more work. If leads work well enough, no reason to link it.

A linked rear can be set up for any number of handling traits, when set up with mutli-hole brackets can be tunable, and can generally yield more usable wheel travel then leaves.
Leaves are better when rear end weight varies greatly, as they give a progressive spring rate VS the linear rate of could.
A linked rear can be set up for high or low speed handling, from crawling to racing and anything in between.
