Yep. It's been a longtime coming. My wife and I are looking at real estate sites trying to find something we like. We are going to a schedule a flight over once we hear.

Thanks. It's going to be a weird/scary/busy transition if we get to go.

Yeah I'm down to about a month and a half in waiting to hear about mine. I've got the experience and results to back it up but lack in the specific education requirements so not sure how it's going to turn out

Good luck. Some places put to much emphasis on the Education part. When I was young and still invincible, I worked for the Dept. of Natural Resources as a Wildland Fire Fighter. Those guys were/are the worst for putting education ahead of experience. Just a few years ago I interviewed with them for a job in Spokane, Wa. The job was supervising and inmate handcrew. They had 2 positions open. One was full time permanent and the other was career season(9 months a year max). It came down to me and one other guy. He was a recent graduate with a BS in forestry, that's it, no fire, no supervisory experience, nothing else pertaining to the job. I have multiple years of running a wildland engine, lots of time working with inmates and ex-cons and about 10 years of supervisor/ foreman experience. Can you guess who they offered the permanent position to?

Yup, never fails! You were likely talking with an HR person who knows little or nothing about the position & responsibilities. Imho experience in the field is more solid than paper on the wall. I wish you well!

Unfortunately it was the regional manager and the program director from the prison. Those silly guys even took me out to dinner to try and convince me to accept the seasonal spot.

Holy shit, how have I never tried that. I had a deep fried avacado covered in queso at a place in Austin, it was incredible.

    You are missing out buddy!

I first tried it at a resturant called Lulus in San Antonio. They called this craziness “The Deputy”. It was fried cheese heaven

I've tried to get the wife on board with that for years, she doesn't love it like I do.
