Lot of highway driving= Silverado. IFS. Coming from someone who just sold an F250.

The 6.7 powerstroke is a powerhouse, but so are all the other ones now so it’s really just pick your poison. The Silverado definitely will have better on road characteristics than a solid axle. I much prefer the ford interior now. I had a 2015 F150 (same interior) and I loved it. But mine had everything you hate (heated and cooled seats, panoramic sunroof, auto windshield wipers, auto high Beams, etc). Love fords.

I'm confused, you can't get the duramax without the Allison trans. That's the only option available if I recall.

I love my '16 Power Wagon Tradesman.

But PW is only CCSB 2500. Also low payload due to soft off-road springs.

Tradesman interior is very nice and not in anyway like the older Dodge interiors.

The 6.4 and 6 speed auto does plenty for my uses. Pretty good programming for descending while towing.

I'd say at your elevation and weight, the turbo diesel will be much preferred.

Seems like the Ram is the closest to what you need, Pick an engine and call it a day.

I am confused for good reason. The state, in their effort to make things fair and to buy from the lowest bidder, has this criptic form with vauge terms for options and it is the user's job to guess or investigate what each of these vague terms means in reality for each manufacturer. Even the dealers who bid have no clue how to interpret the terms. It is a cluster #uck.

EDIT:But as i learn more i now see why it ended up as it did. It was paved with good intentions. just not user friendly.

HAHAHAHAHAHA Per this form, the flatbed ford comes as a dually. if you want single rear wheel you need to PAY $760. WTF? i have to pay for 2 less tires?
