@TacoCat I heard that the 2018 WRX's now come w/ predrilled holes for a roof rack???

can you confirm? I know the 2015-2017s dont have holes.... you either have to drill the roof or get the towers that clamp down on your roof

asking for a friend btw. :anonymous:

apparently, my frame had ZERO issues w/ frame recall and, in fact, was made out of the same material that Capt America's shield was crafted from.

So "bolt on" for some companies means you still have to drill your own damn holes? Lol

Ahhh yes, drilling the frame is a PITA without the right drill bits. I did the same thing of two step bits and a few other bits.

Not sure, but can check. Im guessing they will be under the mouldings? I just got back yesterday so when i head out to buy food ill take a peek.
Most now use the @1 Bored Clerk design that he generously shared with the forum long ago. The sliders caleb has, i traded a set of avid steps for, and those sliders had been on a while back then. So these predate that design, and lots of holes are required for making them true sliders.

Do the 3rd gens still have the issue of bending back the sheet metal? Thought they wouldve fixed that.

Yeah, and from what I've read it's even harder than the 2nd gens.

Lame. I only had to bend the metal back a tiny bit on mine. I guess mine was made on a good day.

*supposedly* there is a little "door" on the molding on the roof, flip that open and there are holes predrilled (again, this may be hear say)

and they are true sliders now.... 1/2 welded and 1/2 bolted w/ grade 8 bolts.
