How about we use the link from the guy who has been keeping the facts straight about Binance instead of spreading misinformed FUD, shall we?

You're right. DYOR is very important.
This thread I thought exists to help our fellow TW members.
I think it's helpful to let people know that if you want to send your money to binance, you're accepting a pretty big loss right out of the gate.
They do publish their withdrawal rates (just ignore the fact that a couple of them are published in chinese characters ).
The withdrawal rates are exorbitant and effectively "lock" your funds on the site. If you're a high roller and playing with big bucks, a flat fee will obviously be a lower percentage than if you're just dabbling.
People will tell you not to leave funds on the site but to put them in a wallet. As far as I know, a withdrawal is the only way to do that and that's going to cost you.

Things I feel you should know if you want to jump in to binance...

    1. You're going to have to put in a pretty significant chunck if you don't want to get decimated by fees.
    2. You're going to have to see pretty significant gains if you don't want to be decimated by fees.
    3. There appears to be a "whole number problem" that makes the fees even worse. Example: You want to buy 6 coins of PDQ. Fees drop that to 5.99 coins. You can't trade, sell, or withdraw anything other than a whole number so you now have 5 coins. The effective fee was actually 1 coin, not .01 coins.
    4. People who are already in and feel locked in may feel compelled to gloss over the problems because they need to draw other people in. If they can't get their funds out efficiently, they need the pool to grow as large as possible.
    5. If binance were a vendor on TW, people would be outing them as thieves.
    6. Going forward, I personally am going to be very wary of dealing with any entity that won't accept USD. There is no one on the planet who won't take USD. It's a very trusted currency and the standard for many things around the world. My theory is that they will not accept USD (or any government issued currency to my knowledge) because it invites too much scrutiny from those governments. As long as they deal only in these new, unregulated currencies that aren't even recognized by all as currency, they can operate with impunity.

I am pretty pissed at binance and even moreso at myself for falling in to the trap.
I don't blame anyone other than myself for that.
I'm only playing with money that I "earned" on other sites so it's not really costing me anything depending on how you look at it.
I feel compelled to let the other people in this thread know that my advice is to stay far far away rather than to stay silent and rebuke them later for not doing their own research.

I think we should spread the referral links out. If you've already gotten a/some referrals, let other people get some.

You're right. I misspoke when I said you can't withdraw anything other than whole numbers.
I should have said you can't sell anything other than whole numbers.
    Capture.jpg
I thought of it as "withdrawing" because what I wanted to do was convert back to bitcoin to send back to gdax.

Sorry if you took it as a rebuke of you specifically. I didnt mean it as a rebuke at all. I wanted it to serve as a firm reminder to EVERYONE to DYOR about everything in the crypto space. It is new and mostly unregulated as you said. Every day I could point out a dozen or more instances of people blindly doing things that other people on this thread tell them to. Since you were so vocal and upset I felt your example was a good one to drive the point home.

On a separate note, I am not 100% sure you are right about the whole coin issue. I will do my best to dig around and see what, if anything, can be done to avoid this. Heck it may be as simple as a check box somewhere to unlock trades/withdrawals with partial coins. This may just be a default that needs to be ticked off. I havent found it to be an issue on my end yet because I dont plan to withdraw anytime soon and I only transferred an amount to the exchange that I plan to trade with frequently. If I were to transfer back and forth from Binance to a hardware wallet I would get raped by fees. I will let you and everyone else know what I find.

Try going to ETH. Bitcoins ratio is so high it may not be able to go that precise

This is a good idea. ETH usually transfers more quickly and will have a lower transfer fee at current prices too.

I don't have any ETH on binance (can get that on gdax)
I tried SALT and it allowed decimals (thanks for that example)
    didn't work with IOTA
    Capture.jpg

all of these issues, the flat fees and the whole number thing are only relative to the amount you're playing with.
If you're making a $100,000 transaction, you're obviously not likely to fret over $5.
    If you're making a $10 transaction, $5 is a pretty big deal.

why would you need ETH to go from SALT to ETH? Or why would you have to have ETH on binance?
IOTA to ETH doesn't work either though. The Cost of IOTA/ETH is too small to get decimals out of it

I thought you meant "try selling ETH"
It looks like you might be on to something though... gonna keep playing with this.

Once you get off Binance let us know which exchange you end up using. I'm sure there will be lots of people in here like you who with the amounts/style of trading they are working with Binance isnt the best option and will be looking for a good exchange to suit their needs.

Yep! Pretty much looks like if the price of the coin is minuscule to the big three coins, you probably won't get a decimal when selling.
