I know what you mean, but I was mainly recommending for advice. There’s always a better deal somewhere.

I went with the full OME lift with the dakars. I went soft ride springs and 887. It’s going on the truck tomorrow so I’ll let you know how it does.

I’ve got this same setup sitting in the garage waiting to go on my prerunner. But all these jabronis have gotten in my head about an AAL, and I can’t make a decision on a leaf pack.
Dakar’s are too much lift for an unloaded bed and standard 5100s.
Only going to get about about 1.75 out of the 6112s maxed out after they settle.
Trucks already 3/4 inch raked, so 1.5 leafs sound about right, but that makes deavers the only option, but everyone complains that they can’t hold any weight.
People are reporting 2.5+ out of wheelers 8 leaf, when the their site says 2.0in lift.
Wheelers 5 leaf doesn’t give you a lift range and no one here seems to run them on 3rd gen for reference.
Alcan makes wheelers leafs so that’s 6 of one, half a dozen of the other.
No solid info on lift values with generals.
You’ve got to cut off the bracket to get the progressive 3 leaf AAL right, and that’s too much work, so that’s out.

For over a month I’ve been going between 1.) sticking with an AAL, and getting truck shamed, 2.) sucking it up and getting deavers, or 3.) saying fuck it, just leave the back alone with 5100s and lowering the amount lift in the front to level it with the back.

Sometimes all the advice is more crippling than it is helpful...FAAAAAKKK

You hit the nail on the head!! This is exactly what I have been running through my mind. Also been thinking this (Don't Shame me too bad) What if I added a 1/4" spacer on top of the 6112's? This way they would be at a true 2" and with Dakars (medium) and adding a Cap...ect would settle the back some and give a fairly level ride. Or else say F it and dump the 6112 idea and go with 887's and 5100's and Dakars.....but I really like the idea of a 2.5 front shock. fml

Please do, and a detailed feel of how the ride is compared to stock....not just "its better". The thing that worries me about OME front shocks is the downtravel is 1" less than 5100, not sure if this matters but I have heard people complain of a "thump" going over speedbumps and whatnot apparently from the shock bottoming out due to travel issues. If I am wrong about this please let me know.

I've read (but cannot confirm) that you can remove the third leaf in the Dakar EL095R pack for a little less lift. Another option is the Icon 51101 full leaf pack. Lift for Icon pack is as follows:

This is why I went with a Deaver pack. It can maintain a 3" lift with 500-700lbs in the rear..

I think the choice comes down to how often you plan to have a lot of weight in the bed, because to maintain that height you need the stiffer leaf pack. If you're riding around with an empty bed most of the time the Deaver U402 might not be the best option. Likewise, if you keep your RTT and other goodies on there all the time, the Deaver J66 wouldn't be a good choice.

Oh, I like this. And could adjust it as needed for additional weight. Thanks for sharing this option, never looked at Icon much due to price.

Not to sound like a D, this is irrelevant to what we are discussing. Looking for about 1.5" in the rear with a cap so about 2" without, not 3" loaded with 500-700lbs. A Deaver or heavy Dakar is out of the equation.

No Prob, just didn't want it getting derailed into a different setup. Thanks for the input.

I was told at headstrong that the clunk sound is from how the old man emu shocks are valved. The reason joeCOVA said that about the Dakar’s and Deaver is because you said a camper top and roof rack were in the future. That 300lbs+ at a minimum. Typically all the leaf packs are 3” lift. It’s just if they are strong enough to maintain 3 inches with a constant load. But if the Dakar’s and deavers are not in the equation, a review on my setup wont help you a bit.

Well, I guess what I meant is i'm not looking for 3" of rear lift. If Deavers sit at 3" with 500+ they are out, I also assume Heavy Dakars would do similar which is why I am interested in possibly doing Medium Dakars, if they sit at 2" with said camper top. I'm not wanting to go down the road of lifting the front more than 2" and anything more than 2" will add to the rake. Ideally I would like to see 1.5"-2" in the rear with the weight and get 2" in the front. Hope that explains my interest in ways to get that done.

Here is a pic from the video on installing the OME lifts. The bottom number is before lift and top is after lift. Those are with factory wheels on it, ignore the wheels and tires in the pic. They only gained 2.5 inches in the rear so add some weight you’ll be at 2 inches.

Gotcha, appreciate the input. That Icon setup is looking better and better, 3 options to adjust to loads. Still unsure about the 6112's, heard the ride quality is excellent but with em jacked up if they are not getting 2" then what's the point? Seems as I'm just going down another rabbit hole. Maybe I gotta rethink the whole thing or at least the front, since the rear seems to leaning towards the Icons.

FWIW, you can contact Deaver and tell them what you need and they can build you a pack to meet your requirements.
