I hope so. Mine is shot! Strong enough vibrations will definitely wr CL you carrier bearing but pretty sure mine would be blamed on lift and like others in not so hot on paying a diagnostic bill

Same. Dakars. Might take out two leaves to get closer to stock height and then try bringing it in.

Yeah but that's a lot of work for MAYBE getting a repair and could still be that you only get new u-joints and not a whole new shaft and carrier bearing

I took my truck into the local dealer yesterday for the warranty extension to get it looked at. The service manager said the u-joints needed to be lubed so they lubed them. I don't really notice any difference. The only thing I noticed prior was a slight shudder when I would accelerate at about 60mph (although that could be from E rated tires). Thought I would get it checked prior to lifting. Next week, I'm changing the tires, UCA's, front and rear shocks, brake lines, bump stops, and adding a progressive AAL. I'll post pics next week.

Eh only free U-joins unless the joints wrecked the drive shafts. They are maint. items I get newer trucks that have issues having them replaced but my truck really with over 180k on the odo I would expect the U-joints and carrier bearing to be bad.

If you hit the gas at 60 mph and get a shudder that is not your tires, tires will be a constant vibration. Shudders are from things torquing on acceleration so to speak so like you U-joints, torque converter, bad eng. and trans mounts, carrier bearing, differential, etc.

If the driveshaft gets replaced how do they balance it?

Last time I changed the carrier bearing I just marked the position on the diff and transfer case so I didn't have to re-balance...

You do realize that driveshafts are not balanced with the transmission/transfercase and differentials. There were cars back in the day that this "timing" of components was important but not really anymore. They put the driveshafts on a big lathe looking machine and then spin it and weld weights to it to balance it out. You can have an unbalanced driveshaft regardless of timing with the t-case and differential.

So even if you timed your driveshaft with those components if you threw or knocked a weight off of the driveshaft you could still have a vibration and an unbalance driveshaft that needs rebalanced.

    miles, lots of them
My 2007 went in to get checked last Friday. Toyota put three U joints in, no problem. I also have worn out carrier bearing they would not include under the warranty enhancement. I will get that handled soon somewhere else. I did not get a letter on the warranty enhancement. 224k. Stock tires/suspension.
