I still have my Buck 110, I use to wear it on my belt in high school, 1977
School admins never blinked an eye back then.

I’m looking for someone to make me at least one, possibly two traditional seax knives. These will be used roughly so I’d want the commission to be more than a decorative piece.

I have a few leads on smiths but if one is a friend of TacomaWorld then I’m interested.

Polished the edge on the cutjack. I have a few gripes about the knife but at the 34 dollar price point I may be nitpicking.

    1. The blade wasn't centered.
    2. The edge wasn't very sharp out of the box.
    3. The pocket clip was loose.
    4. The washers were rough and I had to clean/sand them.

So with a sharpening and handling the rest of those things I can say this will be my new go to edc. The D2 steel kinda makes it worth the bit of effort to make the knife perfect to my liking at the price I paid. Everything else in that price range that I have has way worse steel for the blade.

That would have be an automatic expulsion when I was in High school lol. But I ruined a couple of my dads buck 110s back in the day lol. I now have my own that I have kinda as a keepsake. I really only carry it when I go camping.

My mother's father had a very complete forge/machine shop--here's one I made in 1965 or so, one of the few I have kept over the years--made a few black powder pistols too (I knew I had seen that paper plate somewhere, had to dig through the "picnic kit" in the wife's Highlander to find it):

Good old days. I carried a Victorinox swiss army knife in my pocket every day from first grade through 12th. Teachers sometimes borrowed it to cut something. No problem. 1977 to 1988.

Not only a knife, but does this count? It's got a couple knives..
This is my EDC at the moment. Also, in the backpack, a fixed ZT0160, Kershaw Leek with the half-serration, and another with a nice G10 handle I can't remember the name of at the moment..

    Also have a Launch 4, a Lonerock w/guthook, I believe a camp 14, and just got a Launch 7 which is awesome.

By the time I was 9 or 10 every kid in school that had been raised properly had one of these--a Mercator (Solingen) K55K "Blackcat":

They cost $3.00 or so at the fisherman's supply shop at the wharf--I had to save most of my allowance for a couple months to get one. It has a 3-1/2" blade--that would get a modern school teacher's panties in a wad...

In 1977 if you did not have a knife on you in school something was wrong with you. Also Almost every truck in the School parking lot had a gun rack in the back window with at least one gun in it. Good times Class of 1977.

When I went into the Army in 77 I gravitated towards the Nam guy's and hung out. Tough bunch of Dudes. Did not intend to get off the knife subject! Thanks for your Service.

The early war was pretty much not talked about, the middle (my part) received a bit more attention, but at the end my heart aches for the guys that came back and were literally spit on and called "baby killers"--Rambo made it cliche, but it was true--those guys deserve every bit of admiration and respect we can give them...

Has anyone put a pocket clip on a Swiss army knife?
Looking to carry edc instead of leaving it in a go bag.
Or any model Swiss army knife that comes with the pocket clip? I wasn't able to find one.
