Yes they are the Scepters that are not sold in the US. Found em on ebay something like Dave's Surplus or something... Wanted the Scepters because they DO NOT LEAK when stored, they might drip a few drops when pouring em into the truck, but once you tighten those lids down you could store em upside down and they wouldnt leak.

There is a guy in the classifieds that sell Mil Surplus ones but they are used and only come in Olive and Tan.

Scepter sells em new all over Canada and they are supposedly pretty cheap, but unless you have a friend or are making a trip youll have to order em.

I paid less then that for 2... that one is outrageously expensive.

One of our Canadian brethren could probably make a nice buck selling new ones to us down here.

From what I remember reading, they are not illegal to have, or even ship into the US, but for CARB reasons they cant sell them... its stupid... they are the safest cans out there, and they are what the military uses!

 

Plenty of surfing in MA and RI and north and south... just need to be willing to surf in the COLDDDDDD....

Im from CT originally, so used to it, surfed RI alot before I moved to Cali.

 

Not snowing here yet. There's already a ton of salt on the roads. Instead of white-walls, I have white tire tread.

You might be able to call them and get them to ship them down... or maybe get a Canadian member to do it for you.

Its a bummer because they are dirt cheap in Canada...

 

Id like to make a canadian wheeling trip this summer and will definitely bring a couple back if I go

Just hoping to get back to some wide open wheeling and camping - The beauty of Cali is all the National Forest Land and BLM land is full of dirt roads and open to dispersed camping-- no fee, no permit, just pick a spot and set up camp... Not so back here...

I forgot the name, but there is an equivalent to the Trans American Trail, but in Canada. Its a funny name. But all gravel/dirt roads

 

When I camped New England this past summer, i didnt plan anything. But I was in Lake Placid and had to go to a KOA. It was $45 per night! Im used to state/national forests where its $4 per vehicle per night.

 

we could do the trans labrador highway.... that is some real off the grid overlanding.

that is a real trip.... been studying the trip and maps now for a year or so on an off.... enough money and time and it is there to be had.

 

There is a ferry service starting again this summer that goes from Maine to Nova Scotia, would make it a nice loop.... dont know the cost on it yet.... the wife found it while looking for places to explore
