    They hijack local numbers that normally start with the same 3 numbers that you have. Mine is (864) 361-xxxx, so they normally call from the same 864-361 prefix. I get calls all the time from people that say “I’m just returning a phone call” I tell them noooo I never called you. They normally come back with “this number came Up on my caller ID” finally I realized what was happening.
