Sound deadener - inside AND out of door?

i was looking at RAAMmat's install guide, and they put the mat on the inside of the door and the entire outside as well (see below), THEN put ensolite over that. Is this necessary or overkill? Can I just do the inside and then ensolite the outside?

 

Is this overkill??????

 

i was searching this last night and it wasn't too clear. how much do you need? is too much too much, or do you just need to do certain pannels?

ive heard of this method, but wasnt sure about it... anone have any input on it? its alot better price if it really is as good

 

I covered 100% of the outer door and in some places I doubled the deadener. on the inner door skin I did the tap on the metal test and then applied accordingly,and where the speaker goes I applied the deadener on the out side of inner door as much as I could. and then I used luxury liner pro on the outer door skin. along with a 12x12 inch of closed cell foam on the outer skin behind the speaker,along with covering inner skin 100% using ccf. IMO I don't think it is over kill,whoever I think their is a point of diminishing return. YOU will have to be your on judge on if it is over kill or not.

 

When I did this last year, I discovered that I got so much that I may as well follow the guide. I ended up having enough left over that I did the rear wall and should have enough to do the rear doors - I haven't had the garage to finish.

I've heard peel n' seal loses stickiness under high heat, but that's only from what I've read.
