What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

Well now this is happening

 

Another successful trip!

 

Going to be redoing my truck after Christmas but still trying to decide on a color, right now I’m thinking on a white with blue pearl in it

 

After having zero inspiring ideas for my own paint I finally decided I was just gonna go full stupid since the truck has become a toy and get the 80s/90s paper cup pattern done on it. I'll have the whole thing painted white and get a vinyl overlay of this...

 

That's actually gonna look sick Lol

 

Kinda looks like a vintage Toyota decal actually doesn't it?

 

I want something white, silver or a deep dark grey

 

Toyota MGM is a common color but it sure does look nice, bet most places would mix some of that up for you.

 

I Was about to say I feel like I've seen old pick ups with similar styles

So I'm about ready to replace my upper ball joints on my new steering knuckles. Which tool from Horror Freight would work better?



Oh I totally forgot I need to put in a new ballnjoint... should I rent a ball joint press from pep boys or just buy a cheap one?

Pickle fork is 100% more useful than that POS separator. But you should arm yourself with a good air hammer too.

 

Then you can make it happen, I ha e a buddy that does body work for a living. Hard shit, but man is it satisfying to watch. Wish he lived closer I'd have my rear cab portion fixed more before paint.

 

Gotcha. Good lead on a ball joint press?

Oh and a seal puller too. Doing all the oil seals on the diff, and the rear main.

 

I bent the cheapo one at the parts store, but I suppose it did it's job. I like the OTC ball joint press the Astro Pneumatic one is decent too. You could get by with the HF one but it'll need replacing almost 100% when you're done with it. If you can get the OTC one it would be my vote. Or just borrow and subsequently break the parts store one haha.
