I just did my tint last week on my new taco, which had factory tint. I've been doing the same level of tint on all my vehicles for years, 30-35% up front and 5% in the rear. I'm in Socal and I haven't had any issues with CHP or local Police with this level.

I payed 300.00 for 3M Color stable w/ a gold warrantee. If any of my windows are broken, they will replace the tint on the new glass. Or if I am ticketed they will remove the tint and put it back on once I've had it signed off. Kinda cool

The cab is way cooler with the tint and visibility isn't an issues. The rear tint over the factory tint puts it down to between 2-3% light transmission.

Here are some pic of it on my DCSB

As long as you're happy with it, doesn't matter how much you paid. Your truck looks similar to mine. I wasn't stuck on a certain type but I wanted 3M because it's always lasted through every car I've put it on. In CA it's against the law to put ANY tint on the windshield or front windows. I've had a few fis it tickets over the years. I hope the fronts look different enough from the rears that law enforcement won't notice right off the bat. With the factory tint on the back and rears it's definitely a difference. But I still think it's a little dark to actually see well at night. Nice looking truck btw.

I from the bay area. I used 5% in the rear and 30% for the 2 front windows. 30 is the darkest I would go for the front windows honestly, 35 if you want to play it safe. The rears you can go as dark as you want. It's not really that hard to see but if you get in a tight spot and the side mirrors aren't enough, just open the rear window or use the camera.

Did that price include the sunroof and front windshield?

I'm getting quotes of $400-600 to do all the glass, including the front windshield...supposedly that will be close to clear but block out UV & IR.....I was wondering if that's true.

No windshield or sunroof with my quote. Windshield was an extra 200 for clear crystalline.

Is that the ceramic or dyed?
....and did you do the front windshield? If yes you notice any glare from headlights or wearing polarized sunglasses?

    .......what did it cost?

If you go ceramic you do not need it dark or tinted film, the properties of the ceramic tint keep out the heat. Some dealers have displays that can show you how effective they are.

Was the place you went to in OC by any chance?
and what was tinted and how much? ....just trying to get an idea.
I keep hearing 400-600 for all the glass, sunroof & windshield.

I was looking at exactly those pages, I noticed that they don't make anything too dark....I wanted to add limo or more to my rear and rear doors to block out the fools with the $40 misaligned eBay hid lights, and want it dark to not advertise if I stupidly left something inside.

Also read some of the negative reviews about how people said that they felt no difference, but who knows.

Ceramic all the way around is what I have. Front windows are right at 35% which keeps me legal in NC. Have factory privacy glass in the back and they put the same tint as the front doors over all the back windows (just to get the heat rejection). Windshield is tinted but it’s around 70% I believe (again for the heat rejection). Truck stays cool looks good along with not being a pain to drive.

I used to put five percent on all my vehicles, my last daily driver I put 20 percent and I could see fine. I drove my girls Highlander yesterday and I just had 20 percent put on it it was a pain to drive it almost felt like it was too dark.

Im not sure , I have 20% on my Honda Fit but the tint is 6 years old and probably faded, But it is very easy to see out of when driving, the highlander with 20% is very dark I had to roll down window to back up- Hopefully it was just the area we were in.

I’m going to do 5% all the way around, and either 20% on my entire windshield or 30. Not sure yet, I’ve had both. Madico is my favorite brand of tint.

Tinting the front windows does not mess with the GPS / Maps on the head unit? I ask because the manual says tinting the front windows is a no no and will screw it up. I take it that is bogus? If so i am going to look into 30% tint for the fronts

The antenna is that shark fin on the rear of the cab. It's amazing how some dealers just don't give a crap.
