Same... really surprised that Snoke was taken out so early.

That leaves Kylo Ren in charge... weird. He has zero military experience and runs off total emotion: Shoot him all w/ every gun we have! - Every ship chase the Falcon!

I mean, really?? He just walked right into all that.

 

Snoke showed him something about Rey that we will find out in the next one. Maybe.

 

Well who is gonna get in the way of that? Hux tried and he was force choked. I thought he died and then he pops up in the next scene like "oh hey! " haha

 

That was my point... Kylo is a loose cannon and if the First Order is going to be led by him, they're toast. I agree w/ the point that Hux will do something... he has to. Just not sure how or what.

 

We were told she would have a bigger role. So what like a minute or two more?? She possibly had less screen time haha

 

Agree on both points. Considering the toys that have her you'd figure it would have been a bigger part.

 

I was like wtf when Poe said "big ass door."

 

I enjoyed the movie as a whole. I think they tried a little too hard with the jokes at the beginning, in the original movies the comedy was always there but it wasn't so forced. Also the whole part with Leia force pulling herself in from space while knocked out was a little over the top.

I think Snoke getting killed so easily was kind of lame but him dying was important to setup the First Order to be under Kylo Ren which will eventually be their undoing. I just wish we had gotten a backstory on Snoke.

 

Well I think it sucks and I haven't even seen it yet.

Fuck The Last Jedi!

I've waited for two years to see this piece of shit film. As always the cinematics were good with the space battles but there are so many flaws in this movie that the cinematics couldn't overcome the poor quality of the storyline.

So I'll just touch on the high points...

1: Who are Rey's parents? Fucking junk dealers and she's just a random girl??? ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME???? They had so much opportunity to expand on that story line and it was wasted in a 15 sec clip.

2: Snoke. Who was he and where did he come from and gain his powers? And if he is so fucking powerful how the fuck did he not notice the lightsaber turn on the table beside him before getting cut in half? Now we'll never know I suppose? Oh... and the fight with the Imperial Guards afterwards... If Rey and Kylo are so fucking powerful why didn't they just force push them and beat the living shit out of them? Don't get me wrong... It made for a pretty good fight scene but it should have been over in a flash.

3: Luke. WTF?????????????? At the end with Kylo and Luke I assumed it was going to be an epic lightsaber battle which we deserved. If Luke was going to die anyway don't be a P@$$y and send a hologram of yourself to do the job. Be like Obi Wan or hell... even Darth Vader and die for the cause like a man.

4: The casino scene was completely unnecessary and lasted way too long. "Let's free the animals and pick up this guy that will work for the highest bidder only to betray us". That would have been a PERFECT time for Lando to come back as a codebreaker.

5: As they were running out of shield and launched the escape pods... Eh... let them shoot a bunch of them before getting the bright idea to turn the ship around and jump to lightspeed through Snokes ship (which I must admit did look cool).

6: Leia lives??? WTF again??? That was a perfect death for her and one that made sense in the grand scheme of things. But no... she's still alive in the movie even though she isn't alive.

I could post so much more but fuckit... So now we have two characters that I don't give a shit about and I honestly think JJ Abrams has his hands full after this major fiasco of a Star Wars movie. I came out of The Force Awakens two years ago feeling like I was seven years old again. I came out of this movie feeling like I wish they would never make another one.

These guys are the guys that should have been put in charge of making a true Star Wars film. If you haven't seen it I HIGHLY recommend you watch it because it is epic and it was just random fans that shot the film.

*EDIT* Let's face it... What we enjoy seeing is epic lightsaber battles and this film has the best one's ever.

I liked it and thought it was enertaining.

Thought the humor was good. The BB8 disguise was really funny.

Loved the scene when Yoda destroyed all that Luke thought was so sacred.

A tad bit disappointed in the lack of backstory on Snokes and especially the Knights of Ren...but glad that Luke is not Rey's father, glad that it did not follow the pattern of a previous episode.

I hope that Kylo Ren builds a new mask in the next film now that he is the Supreme Leader and can do whatever he wants.

Scene at the end with that little kid using the force to grab the broom sets the stage for the WAY ahead future of the franchise.

Can't wait for May 2018 when Solo is released...anyone think that flick will end in the cantina on Tattoine? And will Han Solo have any run ins with a young Darth Vader?

The Han Solo movie is the last thing I wanted to hear that they were making when they announced it. I'd much rather see a movie from the Empire's point of view. How the Empire came to power and if you've read any of the books it would have made a much more interesting story than an early Han Solo. Don't get me wrong... Han was my favorite character when I saw the original Star Wars when I was 7. He was my favorite character in the last movie. But a movie based strictly on the Empire would make for a much more interesting movie IMO.

As far as the Luke not being Rey's father... We all knew that going in so it was no surprise. But to blow it off in a 15 sec. dialogue that her parents were junk dealers and left her is just absolutely fucking stupid! So much more could have been made of that. Kylo Ren??? Fuck that emo dick. This film took Star Wars in the direction that it should have never ever been taken. I had such high expectations about this movie and it fell on it's face. Other than the action scenes the rest of the storyline was throwaway. Poe is the only one I like but even at the first when he is trolling over the radio (which was fucking hilarious) it didn't explain how his tie fighter was able to get past the Dreadnaughts shield. I suppose every ship in the empire has a shield with the exception of the Dreadnaught? It's little things like that, that get overlooked but when you sit back and think about it, it makes no sense. The more I think about the movie the more I dislike it. This, of course, is just my opinion.

 

When Revenge of the Sith ended...I really wanted to see an Episode 3.5. Rogue One did not satisfy that.

Rogue One was a disjointed movie from the start. The only credit I'll give to that movie is Disney actually made a war movie instead of a Star Wars movie. And let's not even bring up the prequels... we all know they suck. They killed off Darth Maul (arguable the best villain Star Wars could have ever had this side of Darth Vader) in the first episode.

 

Unsatisfying at best...
