    Yeah.
Grabbed the Cavalry Blue TRD Pro that was at Landers yesterday. Not sure why they gave me the deal they did, but not going to complain. Give me a wave if you see me.

    Yeah.
Ha, you know, that is sometimes part of it. When I bought my 1st gen, the sales manager was the owner's son and here was the conversation:

Him: Have you shopped here before?
    Me: Yes.
Him: Have you bought here before?
    Me: No.
Him: We've met our margin goal this month easily. I'm going to make a lifetime customer out of you.

I got that truck for $1500 UNDER invoice. It was a crazy deal. Sometimes their numbers or goals let them give you a deal, other times not, and those are the times to walk away or go somewhere else if you can. It still didn't make a lifetime customer out of me, I hated that dealership and all the other ones in the Austin area, I would drive 100 miles north to Waco. Had a standing deal with an old guy there, $500 over invoice, in and out in a half hour.

Anyway, my salesman here was Mike Roche. I bought my wife's 4Runner from him, didn't get quite the deal I wanted on that one and I think I let them know on the survey. Not a bad deal, but not what I wanted and I think they could have done better. I was generally annoyed by the experience. I saw him when I went by to pick up a flange nut for my 2012 and had him point out where the Pro was. Called him in the evening and gave him a low (but fair) offer. He didn't think the manager would go for it on a Pro, but he called me back about as surprised as I was with exactly what I asked for.

BTW, the MGM TRD Off Road I traded in is mostly stock and has been well taken care of. Just replaced all the fluids at 90K along with all the other 30K maintenance (tranny, coolant, engine and all gearboxes). However, the carrier bearing went out recently (just the rubber donut got too soft). I replaced 2 u-joints with Moogs when I did the bearing, and I apparently didn't get them centered well, so it has a driveline vibration that comes and goes at various speeds. I was going to redo it this weekend with Spicer joints, but now I don't have to. So if you know anyone in the market, it's a great truck but needs that fixed still, and I don't think they will know at the dealer and some people just won't notice it. Heck, they may just wholesale it off anyway.

They had that truck a while I believe. It was on the showroom floor for a bit and they moved it outside. Didn't it have like $12000 of ad ons from AC Sport?

I actually saw you last night coming into Lakewood. How do I know... your raptor lights! Haha! Another question, are you running LED in your fogs?

Yes sir. Optix LED. I love them. My mom has a house in Lakewood....gonna do leaves today. You ought to join our Facebook page....Tacoma World - Arkansas. We had a ride last weekend through the Ouachita National Forest. I've done all kinds of mods to my truck. I'll be on the look out for your truck.

I would have definitely remember seeing that blue TRD PRO.

    Yeah.
Maybe you are thinking of a different location? I got this one in Rogers, it only had bed lights and Predator steps added by the distributor, and the dealer added that oh-so-wonderful nitrogen in the tires, window tint and the vehicle protection package that they put on everything. So not much added on. Maybe that other one sitting for a while had them a little worried.

Science lesson: the atmosphere is 78% nitrogen, and these aren't F1 cars. Don't pay for nitrogen.

Cheers, fellow Arkansans. I regularly hawk here but first post in this forum. I'm in LR and have off week between Christmas and New years and am seriously considering a jaunt up to the Illinois Bayou/Richland Creek area for a few days. I bought a new Cascadia Mt St Helens RTT that I've only used once and I'm wanting to get it out, and get me out at same time. Anybody interested in a scenic, chilly winter overnighter up in that area, let me know!

    Yeah.
Hmm, I have a Mt Bachelor that I need to test fit on the new Pro . . . but not sure about the cold weather camping thing. I'm a little out of sorts with a new truck, everything had a place in the old one. No flashlight holder behind the rear seat has thrown me for a loop.

Keep us posted, if I get everything sorted by that time and the weather doesn't look too terribly cold or gross, me and the dog might just join you.

Unless it's going to be ridiculously cold raining or worse, I will be going, leaving Thursday morning for North Fork Road/ North Fork Illinois Bayou south of Victor for a night, then meander some of the trails towards Hwy 16/Old Hwy 27 and then to Richland Creek Campground area. All this forecast rain may make crossings unsafe tho and will have to stick to main roads, but 93069A south of Brock Cemetery in Victor and 1815 are both good runnable and fun trails, weather and water permitting. Good interactive resource with up to date roads:

    https://www.fs.fed.us/ivm/

I'll post some final plans closer to time, and happy holidays!

Richland Creek is a beautiful area. Depending on how much time you plan to spend in that area, I'd recommend taking Indian Creek Road (near Sand Gap) south to Maupin Flatt Road, then south to Hwy 7. It's a good afternoon drive and is mostly mild.

Had a Pizza Meet with some OverlandBound folks on Saturday night in Maumelle. Good to meet some other like minded folks, alot of them were at the Rendevous also. @Taco351 and I were the only Tacomas (a couple FJs too). Mostly overbuilt, under utilized Jeeps, but good guys and good mechanics - as they work on their rigs constantly LOL. Planning some runs and meets soon, we'll keep you posted....
