Can't remember exactly where it goes from boxed to channel, but it's somewhere. Maybe just forward of the shackle hanger? Can't remember.

Bolt it, it's nice to be able to remove it. My all pro/gayhoffized rear is only held on by 2 bolts in the stock location and I beat and tug on it harder than my own meat for the past 13yrs (holy shit) and it's held up fine.
Comparison I tore 1 slider off that was welded to my frame during that same time period. Damn now that I think about it I should have bolted my SAS on.

That’s because your welding sucks ass!

He’s probably right, my junk is welded on but I also don’t have a bed so...

Nah. Was pretty excited about this project. Haha
I’d regret that at some point. No doubt.
So much win in this statement. “Gayhoffized” lolz

Spent some time with a heat gun and a suction cup “fixing” the dent. Much better.

Main channel in place to measure for cutting bedsides.

    Tailgate clearance

    Lots of guessing measuring.

And done. The cuts look good, but the grinder was hard on the paint at the cut. Will put some kind of trim over it to hide it.

Holyshit there is a lot of sheet metal in the corners. Took way longer than I thought. With that out of the way, I’ll cut the main piece down to length and start on the wings.

Really thankful for my friend letting me use his shop/welder/plasma/and the list goes on. He’s also helping me with the fab and making sure I don’t mess it up. Haha. Good stuff.

While my welding does suck, I didn't weld the sliders on someone else did.

Progress. Finished the wings and their supports this evening.

Tomorrow’s venture will be tapering the channel iron down to from 4” to 2” where it meets the wings. Looks pretty stupid like it is now.

Pretty excited about how it’s coming along. :woot:

    Getting there!

Having a local dude make a couple 1” thick x 2” wide shackle mounts this week.

Also need to figure out the bedside hoops and find someone with a bender.

    Lots of grinding

    More grinding.

Make a couple loops for trailer safety chains.

    Prime and paint.
