I did the same at first and now as long as I have a good spotter I will generally give it all a try. @CedarPark is a great spotter and got me down 5's on my baby tires so I'm sure he could get you down anything.

I might be interested in coming out to run some trails. I've got a winch now(amd its I stalled)and enough recovery gear between the 2 of us should we need it. Thinking of running mid level trails and working up or focusing on the basics like how to determine lines etc?

I'm sort of in the same boat. I've wheeled a lot, but usually just by myself at our ranch or at some local trails. I'm not afraid of paint/body damage, but my anxiety is the feeling of breaking something and not having anyone to aid in recovery, or not being able to get to work the next day. My friends that wheel have hardcore crawlers that are trailered, so they don't have that problem. Plus having open diffs makes the confidence level drop significantly. I need to take the time to install my new tie rods, brakes, and get some new tires before I make plans to go play. Building a project car doesn't leave much time or money for the Tacoma.

I've never been to HF even though it's right down the road from me.

I'm wheeling open/open and it's been a pain in the ass at some points but once you learn a few things you can run with locked vehicles at HFa good amount of the time. I understand the whole not wanting to break it thing as until recently we didn't have a trailer and it is a different mindset wheeling when you know you have a backup plan should anything happen. Overall I think going with a group and being clear on what your limits are and what you're willing to push them to is the way to go.

Thanks for the kind words! Yeah, was thinking of maybe doing the fence line or something. I can go scout a route next weekend or something..

Its a blast out there! And yeah, I understand that. I typically wheel with two groups; my friends from school and GATOR. All the GATOR folk are trailered rock crawlers, and they can easily leave me in the dust. Hoping to add @CarmenSanDiego 's crew to the mix, they we're a lot of fun to wheel with. Anyway, open diffs really do suck, but you can get buy. Breaking is less common place than many think. I rode shot gun with @Toyboata once with some TW guys at Hidden Falls and there's a 0% chance they'd break with the stuff they we're doing. I'd like to stick to a little harder trails, though.

Na man, bring on the rain! :yay:

Not raining in south Dallas, but it'll be cloudy all day. I was going to wash all the damn Jheri Curl off the Tundra, but will have to wait.

About 18.5, with one of the most misleading tank empty lights I've ever seen; I think it comes on with 4 gallons left.

I'd be down. I might be able to swing the 23rd or 24th. After that though I wouldn't be available again until mid January or late.

Same here. I've gotten 19.something a few times on long road trips to New Mexico & Colorado. Needle wasn't completely buried below the E line but I didn't feel safe going any further nor did I want to run the fuel pump dry.

Mine tells me there is a certain mileage left. And the last 10 or so are like a countdown to a New Year’s Eve ball drop lol

Wanted to offer these up locally first before posting for sale. T4R TRD Pro OEM floor mats. Never used as they were taken out at the dealer when we included OEM rubber floor mats in the deal. They still have that new car smell :) I vacuumed them before these pictures since they've been sitting in my shop.

$75 and they are yours. PM if interested.

We are doing Wolf Caves in a couple weeks but I think you had said you will be out wheeling somewhere else that weekend. You're always welcome to come out with us when we go! If you set a date for this and get some interest let me know and I will see if I can make it work. I'm not really close enough to want to make a day trip so I will probably come up and camp the night before or even the night after so I don't have to leave Houston at like 4AM. Might be worth seeing if we can get it to line up with coffee and cars if anyone from the group wants to wheel afterward.

Yeah, can't do wolf Caves, leaving for Yosemite on the 6th and will be in Sedona when y'all are there.

I think that rules me out for C&C as well unfortunately
