I just bought a Lund tri-fold tonneau cover off of a guy and when I went put it on it looked funny on the sides. After measuring the bed I see that the truck bed is like 5 inches wider by the cab than it is by the tailgate. This makes the tonneau cover look all messed up and crooked even though it’s centered to the bed. My old snap on tonneau cover fits nicer and the edges are even all the way around. Anybody else have this problem? I will try to contact Lund and see what they say. My dad has an extang trifecta folding tonneau cover on his Tacoma and it has the same issue. What the hell?

It's true that the bed is not straight on the sides, it's curved. Pretty sure my tonneau (EFX tri-fold) has straight sides too, but I never noticed an alignment issue that bothered me.

Maybe you could post a picture to show how much it is off?

Here is a couple of pics of the cover. Its the same on both sides so its centered just not matching the contour of the truck.

Why is it that my old snap cover looks even all the way around? I like the look of the snap cover because it looks even but I like the usability of the folding cover. Not sure which one to keep on there now. I hate when you have to stretch out those snap covers, especially in the winter. Those damn snaps eventually end up ripping out after a while. The folding covers are just so damn convenient.

I never noticed that our beds taper towards the rear. Learn something every day.

Imagine how much of a pain in the ass it was when I built mine!

I painted it black. Check out how I had to cut the back end, too. The whole bed is shaped like a trapezoid
