I need help finding out which wire I can tap in to so my LED lightbar switch is illuminated when I turn on my lights. I've been searching the lighting threads and can't find anything. I'm trying to mount the switch in the blank spot near the rear sliding window switch.IMG_20171215_145950042.jpg

It's a work in progress. See my build thread.
I added a tap to the dash light fuse...

Is the 5 amp fuse on the top left (the one that says panel) the dash light fuse you're talking about?

Thanks! I'll go to my local auto parts store tomorrow to buy a add a circuit. What amperage fuse should I get? I've seen some videos saying that you have to use a lower amperage than the original one. So should I go with a 5amp fuse for the additional fuse?

Top fuse is "as is", 7.5A. The bottom is the lite power source for the switch. Recommended is 3.0A.

Unplug the bed light button plug when you have the lower dash off and use a voltage meter to find he power when the dash lights are on and then tap into that wire. Simple! Turns on and off with the rest of the dash lights.

Ok, you guys have helped me out a lot. I just have one more question. I hooked everything up yesterday to test it out and it works great. Still haven't wired the switch, but tested the switch that came with the wiring harness just to make sure the harness, relay and fuse all worked.

My issue is that the light bar can be turned on with the truck off, and can easily be left on to drain the battery. Is there an easy way to fix this?

It's pretty obvious if it's on or not, but I've used mine for a couple hours to light camp and the truck turned over fine after. I think these leds are very efficient. Not sure there's way to make it not able to turn on unless the truck is on

You've got a point there. Maybe I'm just over thinking things. I'll just install the new switch and call it a day.

I love the switch gotten asked many times if the truck came with it from the factory. I only use it when off road and it's in a good spot where you really can't accidentally hit it.

Just wanted to post an update. I finished hooking everything up a few hours ago and the switch backlight stayed on, even when my headlights were off. I looked up info I saw on another thread and they told someone else to swap out the blue and white cables. Instead of undoing the cables from the crimped wire connectors, I swapped them out where the cable clipped into the harness and it worked. Picture of how it was originally connected for reference. I didn't get a picture of the after, but the black stayed connected to the black, and now both white cables are connected, and red connects to the blue cable.

I tapped into the green and tan lines on the bed light switch. Note this was for the illumination circuit only, Not the switching circuit.
