Where can install the vac line for the boost gauge on the S/C?

And does it matter where I install the O2 sensor for AFR? I know it needs to be before the O2 sensor. Plan on just drilling in the easiest spot to access.

Hopefully it’s coming tomorrow. USPS delivers Sunday’s during holidays.

Plan is to change plugs and check oil in the morning the go get a exhaust clamp and weld a bung to it and drill the exhaust pipe and install the PLX gauges.

There’s some new smells. I think a couple different ones.

I can’t put my finger on what one would be. And the other smells a bit like rubber.
I may have tightened the S/C belt too tight. It’s already wearing a groove in the dynamic tensioner pulley.

The sc belt should maintain proper tension with the dynamic tensioner. Unless the other pulleys the belt goes around are out too far. I believe the instructions tell you where to put the alternator (I believe it’s in the middle of the adjustment slot). So if all of that was followed then it should have proper tension. Is that an actual groove or just paint wearing off? Looks like mine which is just paint.

 

Yeah, it was pretty close, if not I’m the middle already. I ended up loosening it up a bit anyway. It’s just paint I believe. But if you run your nail over it you can feel a groove where the paint is gone.

I have less than two hours on the S/C...it happened pretty quick which led me to believe it was too tight somewhere.

 

I don't think you are making a groove in the pulley as you just put it on. It's more like a belt mark which is common.
The smell is probably the supercharger belt, check to make sure the tensioner is working correctly.
You should be able to move it forward and backwards, I know you said when you tighten up the tensioner the bolt was hard to turn, make sure it's not holding up the tensioner from working correctly.
If you put a ratchet in the square slot in the face of the tensioner on the front you should be able to move it pretty easily forward and backwards with the spring tension on it.

 

It’s fine. I had to use a ratchet to get the belt on so it moves. I only tightened up that bolt until I couldn’t turn the washer on the bolt so it’s not too tight.

 

My supercharger is different and is measured by a specific amount if you have too much oil in there it'll blow out and nose, seal, too little and bearing will burn up

 

I looked at it today. Oil was a bit below the bung. I had to stick a Allen tool in to make sure there was oil. Still not sure on how much it should have. The S/C has sat since 2001. Just to be sure I called Jon Bond to ask if I should do a chance to which he replied it should be fine but told me to check level. I forgot what he said about it.

Well I’ve been driving around. So far no really noticeable ping. There may be some but it’s hard to make out over the normal S/C and engine noise.....I would assume if it were something to worry about I would know right off the bat.

 

@Phessor. How loud is your ping? Is it something your really need to turn your head and listen for to hear?

You can't hear anything here on the clip,but you will be able to hear it under load usually. How is the supercharger running? Smoothly?? Lots more power?

It runs good. It runs smooth and I wouldn’t say lots more power but plenty more. Should be able to get another 3-4 psi with water/meth and 2.2 pulley.

 

You have a boost guage yet to see how much boost u have?

 

No....It’s rescheduled for a 4th time to come in tomorrow.

I’m going to try and take work off Tuesday to take it to an exhaust shop to weld in a bung and then I’ll install it.

 

You can look into a URD tension pulley later that has rips on it so that the belt will never jump off or slide off too
