Haven't done anything new in about a year....starting to get the itch again

 

Nothing crazy, but the Black Taco with the little tires made it through the “Moderate” trails out in Sullivan, MO.

 

What are the tire specs? Exactly what I want

 

295/75r16.....about 33.4"

Work in progress as always, I’ve had mine for about 2 weeks. Here are some pics of the process so far:

Plasti dipped all emblems
Removed pinstriping
Window & windshield tint
VHT’d 3rd brake light
Roll up tonneau cover
Black pro tail lights

 

Looks good! Welcome to the club. What’s with the pinstripes? Is that a dealership thing in your area?

 

I’m not sure tbh, when I was standing outside looking at my car after I got the windows/windshield tinted I noticed that they stood out since everything else was black & didn’t like the look. They came with them on the truck & I had no intent on taking them off until I realized it looked shitty with everything else being black, so I took them off.

Edit, to that point- I have a custom black mesh grille ordered (arriving in 2 days) & deciding on plasti-dipping the bumper or ordering black bumper covers.

 

What tires/size are your running with? I like the setup!

 

Thanks man. Falken wildpeaks 265/75/16. No lift. One day I'd like to lift it, but for now I'm happy with it as is.

 

Where can you get the black bumper covers?

 

Any rubbing with those on with the stock suspension?

 

None at all. Didn't even rub the mud flaps. I still removed them after bending one while off roading, but no rubbing issues anywhere.

265/70/17 will also fit on stock suspension if you have 17s.

 

Candy black w clear? Did a pro paint shop do this for you?

 

I’ve seen some covers on eBay but I’ll probably try & paint them or dip them.

1st day working with the new tint, the windshield makes a huge difference & keeps the inside nice & dark:

 

I asked for specifics on what they used but got vague answer. I believe there are 2 components. It was done by professional auto painter. I went thru a middle man - a tint/clear bra company. Really smooth finish!

I’m in a frustrating process of changing out bulbs to LED. Went with Diode Dynamic red LED (their brightest) to offset smoked look. Look great just struggling with hyperflash - can’t get resistor to work.

Anyway, love the look but would recommend LEDs. 15% perhaps a touch too dark?
