Anyone know what these connectors under the fuse box are? I have a feeling they're related to the ADD system on a 4WD truck, but I have a PreRunner. Looks like the transfer case position sensor connectors.

 

Did the gauges today! White face and leds.
Not bad but need more l.e.d.s

Also, do i have to remove the bed to change the spare wheel mechanism?? I really want the answer to be no.

 

This weekend: Valve cover gaskets and eBay fuel injectors (allegedly "flow matched"). One of the original injectors is leaking after I turn it off, making it hard to start when warm.

Lots of brittle plastic; rubber gaskets / hoses as brittle as plastic. Had to carefully chisel out the spark plug o-ring seals out of the valve covers; I thought they were hard plastic. Replaced PCV and grommet. Dressed all the electrical, replaced bad hoses, put it back together -- one of the injectors was pissing all over itself.
Pulled it apart, the o-ring was torn. Swapped in a new o-ring. Put it back together. Ran like crap -- like 5 cylinders or less.
Pulled it apart, put the original injectors back in . Put it back together. Runs smooth.
Returning injectors. I can swap injectors in 40 minutes, now! Yay.

 

Damn, how did you get the gear gauge in the cluster? I always thought about looking into doing something like that. It even has a spot already in the cluster for it.

Came that way, i do have column shifter gear tho. Not sure if you noticed. Floor mounted shifters have them on the shifter mechanism

Yeah, noticed that bit...but thanks buddy. My dads avalon has a floor shifter and the light in the dash. Our guage clusters are very similar. My cluster even has the cutout like the Avalon. The reason I asked.

Yeah I thought early ADD used VSV's, I know later years used an electronic actuator. I would guess it's for the position sensor for the front differential maybe?

 

nope the sensor "switch" connectors run down around the transmission. believe theyre coloured gray

 

Correct gap is 0.043". Did you use NGK or Denso plugs? Usually they come pretty close to the correct gap out of the box, I don't think I've ever had to adjust the gap.
