Trd pro suspension questions

Nothing wrong with that...hell I bought a Pro grill . It did nothing for the performance. I guess it was just for the "small subtle " change and to be "cool".
Pretty silly. But not 5k silly.
I like the look of the Pro. To each there own.
My wife wonders why I bought my second 17 Tacoma ...(it's a short bed ).
She doesn't get why I need the two small trucks when I have a Ford F-350 which she says is a "real" truck.
I guess we all just have different tastes and needs.

Well heres my reason.. its awesome .. perfect from top to bottom minus the tires. You can put a better and tad bit bigger tire and that thing wouldnt need a dam thing else. My issue is i have wheels and tires i really want on the truck. I love the suspension but trying to find my way to the best solution. Once this is handled.. this pro needs nothing else but rock sliders. I came from a trd offroad... theres no more waking up and online shopping for the pro stuff to put on anymore. Its now online looking for some cool trails

@Ayeele is there an option like on the 2nd gen Pro to do a 3 leaf AAL + front spacers? That’s an easy way to fit 285s while improving the ride, keeping your warrantied suspension, and not break the bank. Did it on my ‘15, not sure if y’all 3rd gen folks have that option though.

 

Ill be avoiding spacers because theres tons of broke struts online with spacers. Also the rear wasn’t designed to travel that far with a aal or leaf pack. Thats why i pretty much need to replace all 4 and doit right to avoid problems later on

 

Got it. It’s pretty common on the 2nd Baja / Pro Bilstein setup with guys running and loving it for years and 1000s of miles ... guess it doesn’t work as well with the Fox setup.

 

Haha, I’m in the same boat brother. Why Toyota put street tires on our 40k pros is beyond me. I love the fox shocks but it didn’t flex much. I took the sway bar off and now it is perfect. Thinking of slapping 265/75 on there.

 

The tires are a joke .. i had 3 flats when i had my trd offroad. I just want to put these bad boys on already

Looks nice. A big misconception on TW is a good ~3" lift will lit you run larger tires, it won't. It will let the wheel travel further before hitting, but the tire will still hit in the exact same spot. It's just less lightly to hit, as the wheel has to travel further before hitting, that's all. Only a lift that limits up travel will let you run larger tires, like a spacer lift. All you do with a 3" lift is start the wheel in a lower position, it still travels up to the exact same spot. So if it hit before the lift, it'll hit after the lift.

 

Sorry to just now see all these comments. I got pretty lucky because some local guy bought a pro and wanted a 6 inch BDS lift, so I gladly purchased all the pro running gear from him with 17 miles on it all. $1400 bucks included the skid, wheels and tires, Fox front and rears, as well as all the suspension bits that can not be used with the 6 inch lift. I called Fox to asked if the pro stuff was good, or if I should just add some more money to it and get a 2.5 kit. His words not mine - get the pro stuff, it's the best bang for the money, and then told be all about 14 stage something, and internal this and that. All in all I was out nothing since I was able to sell my parts removed.

I now have 285s and its very smooth and controlled.

 

Hey guys- question on the amount of lift the PRO gives. How come I hear that the third gen PROs have a 1" lift over the third gen OR or Sports... but when people upgrade to the PRO suspension on their off-roads / sports / SR5's they say they get 1.75-2" of lift? Am I missing something?

 

Hey guys, I got a 2015 Tacoma TRD Pro and my suspension is causing my tires to cup real bad. Also think that my back right leaf is blown out due to it sagging in the back right. I want to get a suspension that’s identical if not better then the fox on now. Wanting to spend around 2,500-2,800. There’s a local guy selling his 2020 TRD Pro suspension because he just got a lift for it. Basically new and wants 2,000 and I’ll get the leafs also. Need help real bad
