I've been shopping over a month, have quotes from over 10 dealer and haven't heard of this TDA fee.

Also, in shopping for a 7516 with MSRP of $31290 w DPH fee. I've gotten quotes from $30500 to $27881. Do your homework or pay the price.

When I say invoice that is the price before tax and license. Destination is included in the invoice and document fees

35k otd. 2018 MT TRD OR ol blue.. just got it few days ago. Has one of the tech packages, forget which one. And they added a bunch of stuff including Goodyear duratracs instead of regular Kevlar bs. Overall very happy

I read up both here and around and it seems like the TDA and delivery are non-negotiable. I'm doing that with 500 over invoice and feel pretty good, though in retrospect I should have started at invoice or lower in my initial offer.

Delivery always seems to be included but not TDA. Doesn’t make a lot of sense as TDA should either be a common pass through from Toyota to the dealer, or not.

My approach is that I’ll pay invoice, Delivery and a dealer fee (about 600) is the rate in my area.

lol that dealer fee is around the correct amount for TDA. it varies by region. some are in the $6xx and some are in the $5xx.

edit : your best bet is to have the dealer print out dealer daily sheets, page 1 and 2. most dealers just give you page 1, good dealers while give you page 2 with all the invoice numbers, TDA, DPH, hold back, PIO hold back, etc.

if you don't see a line entry that says TDA, it may be called something else. I know SET/GST call it by a different name.

New user here in New Hampshire, first post. After too many "little" maintenance items needed I finally bit the bullet and am putting my trusty 1997 to rest. In it's place is a new shiny Silver Sky Metallic TRD Sport 4X4, Access cab, manual transmission, long bed. Normally I will go out of my way to save an extra dollar but due to time sensitivity (failed inspection) I haggled a little and signed the papers. I wish I had been less impulsive and had more time to do my homework and chisel a bit more but it was kind of spur of the moment thing. I'd like to know how you think I did.

    Details:
Tacoma TRD Sport 4X4 Access Cab, 6-speed manual transmission, 6 foot bed
Not a lot of bells and whistles over the way they come
    MSRP: $33810
With a few small extras (floor liner/sill protector, mudguards, spare tire lock and wheel locks) plus the delivery processing and handling fee total window sticker total of $35317
    Sales price of vehicle: $33560
Add on $470 in document prep fees (which I didn't notice) and $25 Title prep fee the total contract sales amount came to $34,055

What do you think, fair? Or did I let them off too easy?

I have the Dealer Daily pages 1 and 2.

    TDA is listed at 773.

The Dealer fee I previously mentioned is their 'doc/profit' fee.

Still seems appropriate to offer vehicle base model invoice plus accessories invoice plus Destination plus Dealer doc/profit fee. Agree?

well I got 8.99% off final MSRP pricing for my discount. that included all fee's, DPH and accessories, packages. so my discount was based on the MSRP of 53,015. its key that you get the discount this way as you get a higher amount off the pricing that if you went with the base MSRP before those add-ons in my opinion.

    Thanks

9% off an approx 35k ‘full’ MSRP would be a significant discount. In fact, it would be less than the invoice price of the just the truck (4x4, DC OR SB MT). Is that realistic?

Wanted to chime in to say I purchased from Freeman Toyota. I called around for weeks. Got a 2018 DCSB OR manual for $33,400. They were the best price in the Bay Area by about $2k.

average discount including a rebate (if there is one, its part of the % off) or if there isn't is between 7-11% for Toyota's. I see 10 or 11% off the high volume cars, but on a Tacoma I see 7-9% and tundra I see around 9% in my next of the woods.

    now that's off MSRP

even with a 9% off MSRP the dealer is still making a living profit off the sale of the new tundra and making 1000-2000 on the sell of the trade in. so I don't see an issue for me or the dealer.

if the discount is too much and the dealer gets antsy on the profit margin on a new tundra, they will haggle. mine didn't even argue for long on the 9% new tundra MSRP. the trade in took longer to haggle than the new tundra.

edit : have to add, I got about 2k off of invoice when I bought my 2015 Tacoma Sport.

I think it was 41-42k MSRP, invoice was like 39k and my price was 37k before TTL (those numbers are approximate, I am guessing since I don't have my paperwork within easy access).

its all relative on how you look at the discount, higher % if your using MSRP or lower if you are basing it on invoice costs per my master thread.

Otd prices are impossible to give opinions on. Each state/city is different due to taxes.
