Clean Carfax, clean title, only thing that bothers me is the 6” lift that is on it.

It has 40k miles, 6 spd. Manual and the guy says he has only drove it with the lift like for about 10k miles.

Would you guys consider this for $16,500 or would you try and find something newer with less mods?

Not sure where your located but as stated above my first concern would be rust.

Him saying that lift is 10k miles old is the equivalent to someone posting an ad "ran great when parked" bunch of bullshit

Check for rust and have a GOOD mechanic check it out. Remove that shitty lift asap. That price is good, but it is a bit scary. I'd maybe keep looking if it were me.

My 07 with 125k miles looks way cleaner than this. 16500 for a 40k mile Tacoma may seem like a deal, but the drop bracket lift ruins this truck. It may only have 40k miles, but that means nothing for a Toyota. The lift is basically non reversible. The frame was most likely cut up for it.

Correct, you can remove it, cap it and brace the middle but for the hassle just find one without the lift.

Buy it. Do a quick clean and touch up. Come to Cali and sell it. Make 4k easy. That truck would be about 22k. A dealer my mark up another few k just cause the mileage is so low.
    Just a thought.

Sorry the pics at work wont load due to our firewall stuff. Not sure if 2wd, but many times the 4wd version requires the removal of the stock crossmember in the front. If that is the case, OP make sure you got a shop you can source out to make a new cross member if you have intentions of removing the lift.

My concerns would be the drop bracket lift (alters frame) and whether the frame has rust issues.

Californian here. If somebody tried to sell me a car, any age or mileage, that had a spec of rust on it I would (and have) laugh and tell them to have a nice day. There is no reason to consider anything that has any rust at all in this state.

OP that truck does not look well cared for. I see enough red flags to pass.

    What does that even mean?

It sounds like the old 'only driven by my grandmother on weekends'. (It was at Pomona, and they are only open on weekends).

pass... nothing personal to the owner but 1) doesn't look well taken care of 2) check if there'd any documentation showing regular maintenance done in past, not just 1 or 2 oil changes but was ALL manufacturer recommended maintenance done and by who 3)frame been inspected, changed out or passed inspection?

You really need to be careful buying a used altered vehicle, many people have found that out once they became the owner. I would love to tell you to have it checked out by a qualified mechanic, but that can be a challenge also finding one of them.

I would run just because of the DB lift. Can't go back to stock, so might as well find another one that's been better taken care of and that you can lift properly

Patience is key when looking for a 6spd as they didn't make many of them. Took me 8 months to find my dcsb 6spd

Kind of hard have to cut one of the stock cross members so would have to get a shop to fab up a new one.

Some states don't allow your tires to stick out past the fenders but so much so guys do this crap to not get ticketed.
