Yes, its a very big event.. with camping and drinking and wheeling, theres a lot of 4x4 stuff in the area.

 

And I'm sure they don't just randomly show up without some types of permits first.

 

Well, I went one year (2014) and there was no forest people or cops etc..

 

I just hate to call people and get the ball rolling when there are other people doing that already, I don't want to step on anyone's toes you know

 

That's not to say that the organizers didn't coordinate with the land managers ahead of time.

Alright guys, The Poker run and BBQ part of this meet are officially postponed and will not be happening January 20th. I am going to continue working with Tonto NF to lock in a date in mid to late March 2018 as well as a location that can fit a group our size and take things like trash collection and restrooms into account. Sorry to disappoint everyone.

As far as January 20th goes I will leave that to the AZTW community and @XPOTRON to decide what is happening. My efforts from here forward will be directed towards setting up the Poker run.

I used to go to that rally in my Bronco days. I thought the camping/expo area was actually private property in Rock Springs AZ? They used to do it at the cinders OHV area in Flag which was a blast but I believe it moved to Rock Springs because it got too popular.
