    Hello,

First post here. Loving my white '17 DBL OR 6SPD with the middle tier electronics package.

I got my iPhone X a couple weeks ago and I for some reason the wireless charging does not seem to be working.

When I set the phone there and activate the charging, the phone lights up for a second as if its charging, then the amber and green lights on the Tacoma blink simultaneously and the phone does not charge.

I am planning on taking it into Toyota, but I was curious if other do charges their iPhone X's in their trucks or if others are having issues as well.

    Thanks,

    PJ

    **Update**
After comments from this thread, I carefully placed the phone closer to the transmission and bam, light goes amber. The whole way home (10 min). Thanks guys!!!

    **Update 2**
This morning I was having the same problems as before, taking it to Toyota tomorrow.

    **Update 3**
Saw an Apple genius and we ran some formal diagnostics on the iPhone...no problems. Tested on a wireless charger there and it worked as expected. Being unsure what to do, we swapped my phone for a new one, now it works in the Tacoma as expected. Perfect!

Conclusion: There is an unknown compatibility issue between some iPhone X and the Toyota Tacoma wireless charger. It works like I would expect!

works on my X. But it's naked and I usually just use a cord because I prefer better audio quality.

I like having the phone display visible too, especially if using my TopoMaps app off-roading.

If I take it out, is there a market for it used?

Definitely this. Much better audio quality with lossless format and plugged in.

It has to be in the exact right spot on the pad...all the way to the rear of the vehicle, and to driver's side. Anywhere else doesn't work.

I have an iPhone X with otterbox defender (thick as they come) and it works.

Cool thanks, I'll try that out. I am not confident that it will work because I thought I would have moved it around. Anyway, I hope it isn't anything too serious.

I'll chime in here. Worked with my iPhone 6 with Qi Charging case as well as my new iPhone X with Spigen case. Mine works in many locations on the pad. Best when towards the FRONT drivers side. However, not experiencing the same issues you are. I would take it to Toyota if your iPhone X is working fine on other Qi chargers.

Is the light ON THE CHARGING PAD lighting up green or amber? Or not?

    None as of yet
dual blinking is overheat code, often caused by too much resistance from poor placement on the mat or a case interfering with it. Try moving it around and see if it works better in another spot and/or remove it from the case if it is in one.

Set it on the pad and slide it all the way back towards your shifter till it touches the lip. Give it a sec and the amber light should come on.

On the charging pad, both the green and amber lights blink together.

Anyone know if the Qi charger works on a lowly iphone 6? Mine does not work but not sure if doing something wrong...

No on the iPhone the 8 was the first model that it will work. Of course some aftermarket case makers make cases or pads that fit inside your current case that will adapt it to work, but they don’t seem to work as well as the built in on the 8, and are a pain when you need to use a cable to charge.

My Galaxy S7 Active works, but it definitely works better without the case. I actually quit using my case because my commute is a convenient time for me to charge my phone, and I'm enjoying how slim my phone is naked.

Works fine on my X with a case. Take it in to Toyota.

My Note 8 fits the spot perfectly, and it charges great (but slow) there.

My X charges fine. Place it toward the front edge of the tray.
