Looking at different cab cages for a DC. The “c” pillar tube. I see some inside the cab and some outside the cab. Does it really matter if it’s inside our outside?

 

Kinda depends on gnar factor of the cage vs room for back seats

 

Yeah I’m cutting out the back seats. Kids out grown them. Plus being a 1st gen not much room back the for adults. Just going to make that space for gear, tools, spare parts, etc...

Lots of manual trans options but because of my injuries I have to have an auto (sadly)

 

Yeah we are looking at the build list right now, luckily we have plenty of time (for now) to work the build out.
The truck will be completely built around actually being used and beat on (like I already do, which is why shit keeps breaking) but we (envy Motorsports) are planning to have it all done by sema 2018. But we'll see

May put a tiny turbo on it but even that's a super big maybe

 

I suggest the turbo, I had a IS300 with the 2JZ VVTI for a while and my second gen was much faster with the TRD supercharger. For the weight of the car it moved fine with all of its about 200 hp/torque, but to move a truck I think it might be laking some power unless you get a good trans that doesn't rob too much power and gear accordingly.

 

Why not just ls swap it? Gunna cost the same

Curious as well. There's drop in kits from 350-1000hp basically ready to go.

Though after borrowing a friends tundra over the weekend to tow a trailer, I was damn impressed with the 5.7 in that. I'd put the s/c on that and keep it Toyota if I end up blowing mine and debating an engine swap. But for now I'm hoping not to blow up anything lol. I'm happy with the s/c and our little 4L v6

I am rather retarded and both times the rear end has been inspected I just kinda get super mad and see red and forget to take pictures

Kinda shitty a truck with 25k on the odo already has a trashed rear end and it typically pisses me off since Toyota will warranty it but only if I return all the mounting locations for it back to stock first
