Cause everyone and their brother LS swaps their trucks. Just kinda wanna be a bit different. And I've always been in love with 2JZ's
And I think the 600hp we are aiming for will do just fine for my needs

There’s a reason LS engines are in a lot o trucks... they are the LEGO’s of engines...have you seen prerunners? Every single one out rollin around is completely different from each other.

It’s your money tho, so rock on

Refer to my second reasoning then.
    I really love that engine.

And the same argument can be made of drift/race cars
People put LS and 2JZ motors in everything
    Both motors are super popular
But the LS is more available and easy since 500 jim bobs already did it before.

Nothing wrong with an LS though and we may end up going that route if the 2J build sheet ends up being too much of an issue

    But for now
    I'm aiming for 2JZ with 600whp

    Cause
    2J's are sexy

Since your going through all this trouble... u want to leave a little +2 kit on there?
If your paying a shop to build a truck might as well just go for it

Yeah that's kind of my current Delima.

Do I go wider for the extra travel ability? And potentially lose my ability to drive safely down backroads I enjoy.

Or do I stay limited with a +2 kit and keep my ability to drive on 99% of roads I like here in the woods haha

We can't always be offroad and when I can't I like to drive old backroads and a lot of them are pretty narrow

These trails... do vehicles with one time axles drive on em?(many built crawler type rigs) if so a 3.5” will fit just fine... I take my truck on really narrow trails and my truck is wiiiiiidddeeee 90” front 85” rear. I’ve rubbed trees on both sides without problems lol

Skim reading is not your forté

    I said roads lol

A lot of Kentucky back roads are not even safe to drive on if you're in a F250 let alone a mid travel truck.

I'm not saying I can't fit on trails
I'm saying I may be pushing my limits to fit on 2 lane roads safely in the woods if there is another car coming down that road

I was worried about this as well when I was deciding between a +2 and +3.5 kit since I like and end up on some pretty narrow trails pretty often. The difference is only 3" in the end and if you are that close to being too wide, then it's probably not safe to be on that trail with the +2 anyways. If you were arguing over a +2/3.5 vs a +6 I would understand

Same thought here with me which is why I scrapped the +2. I could care less about narrow trails as long as my glass doesn’t get crushed.

So is this a factory defect or was the kit installed wrong? I just can’t imagine that the rear would itself unless you have been really pounding the truck.

    It's a factory issue
They have an open warranty for this specific issue with 3rd gen tacomas

But the warranty requires the whole rear end be replaced
    Not just the 3rd member

Yeah if it's dirt I consider it a trail. And I am happy to put my truck off to the side of the "road" when there is oncoming traffic, terrain permitting

Around here, you'd be off the road and into a tree

They do this thing here where the roads are high and then the edges drop off to make natural gutters, and then they put trees right next to it haha

There are a lot of widowmaker type roads around here
