Nope. Still using it as is. You just rotate the whole unit forward. Seems like it won’t work at first but it does.

Made some progress this weekend. I worked on the door opening: sanded/filled edges and started cutting the ledge for the seal to close against.

Working on making these corners round and tangent to the runs adjacent to them.

    Cutting the seal plate

First test fit! I need a quarter inch spacer so there’s room between the door and the seal plate for the actual seal. I could make a recess in the door for that but that’s way more work to finish then putting a spacer of 1/4” marine plywood between this seal plate and the door opening. Now I just need to go buy more plywood. Would be lovely if I could get a half sheet.

There's a place where I live that does a lot of custom cuts for folks that don't have tools at home, and they sell the cut offs, 1/2 sheets, etc. It's rad.

Did that, the vent tube seems to be kinking the rubber hose. May modify it so it doesn’t put pressure on the hose and break it. Thanks

    Progress is looking great!

    Thanks!

I’d have to go look at mine to remember how I did it, exactly. I fiddled with it a minute or two and it was usable. I’ll get some photos today sometime and post them up so you can see what I did.

Here are a couple of photos to help shed some light on what’s going on with the fuel filler.

    055195E3-D0D0-4D4B-9EE7-AE595F6519E1.jpg
Normally the two vent hoses are attached to a piece of plastic along with the fill tube. That doesn’t work. Separate them. It should roll forward easily at that point. I used the clamp for the fill tube to hold everything in place...temporarily. It’s still like this but I have plans that will better support the whole system. I did slightly tweak the bolt-on clamp in the photo to get the fill tube in a better position.

I think that’s the best photo I have that shows what to do. Let me know if that works. If you have more specific views you’d like to see, just ask

My dad was real cool today a picked up a half sheet of 1/4” marine grade plywood for me. Hooray for retired dads!

And here’s what I did with it. This is the spacer that will create room for the fully compressed bulb seal when the door is closed. Hopefully I have it all figured out and I don’t compress the seal so much I can’t close the door.

Thank you. I’ll take another look to see what I’m doing wrong. My one tube is kinking a rubber hose. Can’t imagine different filler necks between dclb and a ess cabs. The pic helps a bunch.

The spacer looks awesome by the way. Lots of work to cut that out and make it look that good.

Cool. Let me know if you have more questions!

Cutting plywood is an absolute pleasure after dealing with fiberglass so much!

Lol. Fiberglass sounds super itchy. Looking forward to seeing the finished product.

Look, you all know how I feel about clamps and blue tape so we’ll just look at the picture and not say anything.

Pfft...three of them were still on the wall! I’d probably be happy with twice as many. I’m always clamping the hell out of something.

The best part is that the same type of clamps are being used in the same position all the way around....Can we use a blue quickgrip in the corner??....no, that's where the yellow ones go.

It makes me laugh, because I do the same thing.
