Spur of the moment trip to Mt. Lemmon this past sat to try and beat the snow up there. We won lol. Super awesome to wake up to a blanket of fresh powered and dodges getting stuck in the distance haha.

It was good bro. I hiked my ass off and took a couple spills in the process but no harm done. The scenery was completely worth every step I took. No luck on a mountain lion. Saw a couple deer, a couple skunks and got lucky enough to jump a covey of quail so I grabbed the boomstick and went to work!IMG_20171217_124805970_HDR.jpg IMG_20171216_081332275_HDR.jpg IMG_20171216_105958164_HDR.jpg IMG_20171216_112314929.jpg IMG_20171216_114849007_HDR.jpg IMG_20171216_120446175_HDR.jpg IMG_20171216_125012091_HDR.jpg IMG_20171216_151134202_HDR.jpg IMG_20171216_151253163_HDR.jpg IMG_20171216_205429448.jpg IMG_20171216_161616057.jpg IMG_20171217_074120822_HDR.jpg IMG_20171217_145214901_HDR.jpg

I definitely want to explore that whole area more over the next year. That canyon goes on for at least another 10 mile, probably more. And there's other canyons that tie into it. And I think most of it is probably pretty much untouched because you can only get to most of on foot. I'd totally be down for a backpacking trip but I can't figure out how to carry enough booze! Haha

Saturday night wasn't windy when I was in camp. I had to keep the fire pretty small on Friday night due to the breeze and all the buffalo grass, but I had it blazing on Saturday. Fortunately, it waited until after I went to sleep to start raining on and off all night. And yes, the quail was a damn fine meal. I wanna get more. HahaIMG_20171218_175927038.jpg
Tonight's dinner was bacon wrapped quail on a bed of some sort of amazing rice the wife threw together.
