Whoever said LT can't tow 8k lbs+ never talked to me. When the tow rig is broken and the trailer is in your way, you're gonna find a way to move it.

Hmmm didn't try a torch, I have a torch and vice at my parents place in riverside but I was trying to get the uniballs out tomorrow. Im just worried that won't do it, I had some stubborn ones in my tc control arms a few years ago and even the press had trouble pushing them out.

Is there a certain method using the vice to press them through or you mean just to hold the coilover?

Soft jaws to hold the shaft so it doesn't scar them, generous application of heat, and beat with a huge fucking hammer. Individual results may vary.

Might just have to make that drive to riverside and use the vice there since I need to stop by kartek and get some shims anyway. Hope that'll do it.

edit: will the crossmember be in the way of new Rear perches ? I've seen most are mounted slightly in front of the factory hanger

smashed this, broke that, covered it up with tape and paint
There is also a warranty for the issue of the gears grinding to pieces
Also, you said recall, this isn't a recall.
It's just an open warranty program they are running for people encountering this issue. But the reason this issue was discovered in my truck was a result of the recall regarding the leak.

Thank you for your input :)

3rd member failure is covered by power train warranty 5/60k. There is no “open warranty” for this.

    Great
Thank you for your input! You've been very helpful.

Now how does that change anything?
Rear end full of metal shavings at 25k on the odometer
    No locker
No modification to the 3rd member

Toyota said it's something they are aware of and the warranty procedure for this is replacing the whole rear end free of charge.
My toyota was willing to "fix" it

Weather you wanna spilt hairs or not means little :)
