Has anyone replaced their o2 sensor?

Just got back from my mechanic and replaced most of my fluids and plugs to find out that the reason for my engine light was an o2 sensor malfunction.
My truck seems to be getting bogged down in 3rd through 5th gears while I am just driving normally...
Anyone have this problem, and what did you do to fix it?

 

Do you know what it feels like when one goes bad? (dont want to spend $200 if I dont have to)
I priced 2 of them and found the Bosh to be around $230 and the Denso to be around $180
Does it really matter? The Bosch is OEM

 

Did you do anything to modify your engine? Rich fuel conditions will Foul an O2 Sensor.. Bog down in 3rd and 5th? How long has it been doing that? Been using a lot of gas, or have you been getting Horrible gas mileage?

If not, yeah.. they do go bad...

Yes! after 100k miles I had to replace it too. Engine light went on and the mechanic told me the heater element of the O2 sensor was worn out. It's an emissions part so it's not a big deal.

It's super easy on the 1st gen trucks. One electrical connector and two bolts. Soak the bolts in penetrating oil for a while before you try to crack them. Don't get enough penetrating oil in the sensor hole to risk getting some on the new unit. Should take you all of 15 minutes.

www.rockauto.com has the best prices I've found yet for O2 sensors (and a lot of other parts too).

I replaced it today, cost me $250ish from the parts dept.
Took all of 30 mins for me to change it.
Engine light went out after two starts as well.
I am having a problem with my cab getting hot, like my exhaust or cat is getting too warm...
Any thoughts on this matter?

 

Leaving out the wise-cracks about it being hot outside (summer) , are there any funky smells, like exhaust or that "something is burning smell" that come with this heat?

I can actually feel the heat on the bottom of the drink holder that is directly behind the shifter

 

I was referring to Chris, Her, but no there are no smells...
Just heat, especially when I come to a stop and there is no more wind.
Its like it has to catch up or something

 

Best I'd be able to say is figure out exactly what is under the spot that's getting hot inside the truck, make sure there's no exhaust leaks, pipe bent or mounted too close to the floorboard, take it from there.
