Lmao! Fuck that guy, good for your boss!
Yes they will tint the slider

Charlie, do you happen to have one of those stickers that identifies the driver as one with autism?

Alright so coming from a FF/Medic I will say school zones save lives and enforcement helps this. The reason for 25mph has everything to do with the stopping distance of a vehicle at that speed is a safe medium to stop and not hit a child in the street. Also enables the driver to have time to react. I still think 25mph is too fast but I’ll be fine with the medium speed.

So, I think the corporal who pulled over my friend was either having a very bad day or took it very personally when people exceeded the speed limit in school zones because of a personal experience...

So, my friend got a ticket for a whopping $500! Five hundred bucks!

Luckily, my friend's parents are both lawyers and knew plenty more lawyers. My friend told me about this the day it happened, but swore me to secrecy and made me promise not to tell his parents. He talked to one of his dad's lawyer friends, and she agreed to represent him pro bono. At the same time, attorney-client privilege prevented her from telling his dad.

My friend admitted his wrongdoing, but like anybody else who had a clean driving record and got a ticket that carried not only an exhorbatant fine but 3 or more points on one's license, he wanted leniency.

The court date came, and the corporal who issued the ticket never showed up. You'd think that the case would just be dismissed because of that whole "right to face your accuser" thing.

My friend still got a $95 fine, which is much better than $500, but still...

I think the case should have been dismissed...

The important thing is that my friend did not get any points on his license!

    No, never needed one actually...

Maryland requires an "invisible" designation on driver's licenses for autistic license holders, meaning you check a box when you get your license and the info is only available to a cop running the license.

As someone who's played the "autism card" on numerous occasions to make the other party feel bad or just look like an asshole, I somewhat agree with this...

However, while I am very open about the fact that I have Asperger's (obviously, just look at my thread), I think it should be my choice whether or not I have to reveal to the government that I have Aspergers. If it means that I will be treated differently by police than someone without Asperger's who is just going out of their way to be an asshole, then I'm all for it.

That’s the reason why I asked. There was a push a while back by some local LEOs that wanted folks to get a tiny decal to show they are autistic, deaf, etc because an officer pulled over a deaf lady, wound up having an altercation and tased her then found out she was deaf if I recall the story correctly

The police scare the shit out of me. My dad sometimes mistakes my disdain for law enforcement and their various tactics as being "anti-police."

The way I really feel is that "I'm an honest and law-abiding citizen, Asperger's or not, and I just want to be left the fuck alone!"

The one incident that really fueled a seething long-term dislike for LEOs occurred on March 1st, 2013.

Before I continue, I would like to say that I was not abused, brutalized, or otherwise victimized. The officers who questioned me were not the least bit unprofessional in the way they handled the situation, though I do think they came on a bit too strong...

Well unfortunately they gotta bug a lot of folks. You never know who is a criminal. Hell I’ve transported a 88 year old grannie who was a hardcore heroin and meth user. You just never know.

    Here's what happened...

First off, you should know that I am a huge shutterbug. I don't go anywhere without a camera of some sort in my immediate possession. Back then, it was always whatever Nikon SLR I had (I've had three Nikon SLR cameras between December 2009 and July 2016). I've learned to start using my phone I'm certain situations because it's relatively easy to just lie to potentially hostile people and say you were texting or updating your Facebook status...

So, I'd just gotten a Nikon D5100 for Christmas in 2012 after my aging Nikon D3000 started having problems. I was in the process of taking pictures of historic buildings and famous landmarks in Doylestown Borough for a planned YouTube photo montage...

I had never explored this mostly-residential area of the Borough before, so I drove into town one Friday after school and just wandered around for maybe a half hour taking pictures of old Victorian houses, various scenery, the occasional pickup truck, and a pair of central A/C units at a house on Court Street. I only took pics from public sidewalks...

I primarily stuck to Maple Avenue...

Unfortunately, unbeknownst to me, there had been 3 or 4 separate burglaries on that stretch of Maple Ave over the course of about a month...

All of these burglaries had occurred in broad daylight, and everything from electronics to jewelry had been stolen. Police believed it had been a heroin addict...

I of course had no reason to research crime statistics for Doylestown Borough...

I walked around taking pictures without incident, and after maybe 30 minutes, I started walking back to my Tacoma, and while I was heading back I saw a marked Ford Expedition belonging to what was then the Doylestown Borough Police. I thought nothing of it and continued walking to my truck as the police SUV made a left turn and disappeared...

It just depends on your level of electrical knowledge as to whether the fogs are something you can do. I've tinkered with cars for 35+ years. Electrical work is very straight forward and easy for me.

You would need the actual lamps. '05-'11use the larger housing designed for H10 bulbs. The base rigs are not pre-wired. So you'll need to make a wire harness using a relay to power the lights off the battery and use either the parking lights or headlights as a signal source to trigger the relay. You would need a 15 amp fuse at the battery and a 5 amp fuse for the signal source.

You can sometimes find universal harnesses already outfitted with a 30 amp relay. Other wise you'll need to make your own.

You'll have to buy H10 pigtails from AutoZone, Advanced, etc to graft onto your harness.

A simple toggle switch in the dash set to interrupt the signal wire will defeat them if you want. Otherwise they'll just come on and off with your lights.

That's just hitting the major points. Either all that made sense or your lost. :D

As for the hood deflector? I like it. Mine's an AVS. I like the fact that it doesn't actually touch the exterior of the hood and attaches with screws and grommets in existing factory holes on the bottom side of the hood.

Moved it to my '15 when I traded.

Moments later, the police Expedition reappeared and pulled to the curb directly behind me. His lights and siren were not on, but I knew he was coming for me...

I also knew exactly what this was about. My parents had been warning me since like 2010 that if I kept taking pictures anywhere but car shows and "touristy" areas, the police would stop and question me. I'd already had numerous run-ins with rent-a-cops prior to March 2013...

A cop in his 40s or 50s steps out of the Expedition and I say "Uh, hello..."

He says "Hi, can I see some ID?"

I complied with everything that was asked of me, thinking "OK, he's gonna run my license and see that I have a squeaky clean record, then he'll tell me to have a good day and send me on my way."

I say again that I was not handcuffed, searched, or placed in the back of a police car...

Then, the cops just kept showing up. I found out that the cop in the Expedition who initially made contact with me was a sergeant. Before long, 4 cops including a plainclothes detective had showed up, in 3 marked police vehicles! As soon as the third cop car showed up, I started shaking.

I was asked the same round of questions by the sergeant and later the plainclothes detective (who I'm guessing was a burglary detective)...

Two things the cops did still irk me to this day...

The first was a question they asked...

Asking me if the address on my driver's license is one where I currently reside perfectly understandable (I'd been living at that address, which was my parents' house, since 2007; Obviously since I'd been living there for five and a half years, that was my current address). One of the cops asked me about my living arrangement, specifically if I lived by myself or with roommates, or if it was my parents' house and I lived with them. With no hesitation, I stated that I lived with my parents, but to this day I feel that it was none of their business!

The address on my valid Pennsylvania driver's license was the address where I presently lived, so I was not breaking any laws by not updating my address. It did not matter in my opinion whether it was my parents' house and I lived with them, I was a rich young entrepreneur and it was my house, or I lived there with a bunch of other guys and we rented the place! Hell, I could have been homeless and living in my truck, and just carrying a license with my parents' address on it, and it would have been none of their fucking business!

My mom later told me that the police were probably just trying to assess who I was as a person, as a heroin-addicted burglar would probably come from a broken home, live on their own, and/or be a homeless drifter. I say again, the address on my driver's license is always kept up to date and that's all the police need to know. It's none of their fucking business what my living situation is!

My dad tried to make me feel better by saying that the police probably recognized the address as being in a very nice neighborhood and were curious to know if they'd just stopped some wealthy young entrepreneur who owned a $500K townhouse in Buckingham Township (I was in fact living in a $500K townhouse in Buckingham Township at the time, but it was my parents' $500K townhouse and they were nice enough to let me live there)!

Your dad is right on some level. Another reason is so when they go to run you, if you have committed a crime and run from them they can go to last know address and look for you which is on your license.
