It’s not my truck man. I was just wondering why people come into build threads and start with the negative comments. Is it yours? No. Do you make the monthly payments? No. It’s probably already paid off, for All we know. People shouldn’t tell where things belong or don’t belong on other people’s property. I get that, yea it’s just a TRD not a PRO, but hey if the OP like the badges, to each it’s own. Beautiful truck OP!

I have some friends who have 400 acres out in Crested Butte, next to Terlingua TX...like 6 miles from Big Bend National Park. I typically go out for a week to stay with them at Thanksgiving. It’s all high desert, crazy beautiful, bluest sky, night sky will knock your socks off, plus they have their own observatory with a 14” telescope. The house pictured is their guest house. It’s up about 400 feet above Terlingua Creek. The road up to it is sketchy, literally like a 1.5 feet from the edge, drop off on a bending rutted, dirt road....more like a path.

One of the roads, 170 that goes from Terlingua to Presidio about 62 miles, follows the Rio Grande Canyon, is listed in the top 10 drives in the US. And it’s still safe to cross over at Presidio into Mex at Ojinaga, about 40K population....pretty there....decent restaraunts if you like gabrito. On that same road is a movie site where they built a small fake Mexican village....movies like Contrabano, No Country for Old Men etc.
All kinds of canyons to hike into....best part is like no fencing anywhere....just pull off....take off. Always prepare though....no matter what always have water with you....super dry there.

On another trip we drove out from Marfa to that art piece the Parada store out in the middle of nowhere....40 miles one way from Marfa....wife wanted to stage some pics....got lucky since a train came by.

Been going there for 9 years. 10 hr drive from Houston...worth it.

Nice white knighting! Im sure if you keep it up, you can hang out with the "cool kids" too.

What negative comments, man? Is it because the truth hurts?

No one is demanding anything of OP. I am just giving him a little insight. What he chooses to do with it, is up to him.

This is after all an open forum, no?

You just supported my point (without even realizing it). The FACT remains, it is not a PRO. It never will be. There is no need for FAKE badges.

I got the Pro badges so if and when I sell it I can get a better price for it as a Pro......
    Sarc

I get the whole GT versus Cobra thang....badge wise.
Sort of like the fake air scoop hood....

    I can dream though.....TRD Pro....in QS...with a Moon roof.
I like the the Pro badge since I de-badged my TRD OR 4x4 Taco.....did add some ‘merica flags.
I like the way it looks......sort of like adding Baja Design amber lights, All terrain Nitto tires with that 4x4 tranny, which at most I have a possible need for when the traffic gets back up on notorious Houston freeways and I need to cut across the grass, sometimes muddy medians to get to the feeder.....’fake partial leather’ Clazzio TRD Pro with red stitching seat covers with the front headrests poseur logo TRD Pro. My poseur TRD Pro grille. Poseur TRD Pro CAI. Poseur TRD Pro exhaust. I think my newly installed adjustable 3rd Gen 5100 Bilstein’s are considered to be real.....but the 2” ReadyLift kit....uuuh...ok....poseur lift...agree.
Plus the Crutchfield speaker upgrades I did, aka poseur Priemium sound....it does sound much better though.
    And the Poseur Pro driver....
Like may of us....I made my truck look, function the way I wanted it.
Last but not least one of my fav cartoons....at the bottom.(and not directed personally towards anyone on TW...for reference).

+1, there are more '69 Z/28 Camaro's on the road today than Chevy ever made :anonymous:

Admittedly, my truck is slowly turning into a Pro clone, but it was never my intention, the parts just happened to "work" for me or I have a good reason for having them.

You also have a badass truck. Would look much better with your own custom made badges to reflect your build.

Adding mods / parts to fit one's tastes is all good and dandy. Adding badges that state one's vehicle to be something it truly is not, is quite another.

The average joe blow will be fooled but car guys / gear heads will not.

    My 2 cents.

I thought so! We go every thanksgiving as well. We usually stay in the lodge in the park or over in study butte. I love that area. You guys ever go to the hot springs?

Nothing wrong with adding the performance parts / modding / replicating a look.

Lying / adding fake badges to advertise what your vehicle is not, is quite the opposite.

Not to be rude, but like the cartoon I posted....I don’t give a fk about joe blow or gear heads and their opinion about how or what my truck is....I didn’t ‘build it’ for them. ; )
If someone says something nice....that’s awesome dude! Someone talks bad about my toy....I only worry about my Taco getting it’s feelings hurt. Hopefully the key is off....and the pistola is in the glove box, locked.
Everyone is a art critic....opinions are like arse holes....everyone has one.
My truck is bad arse for me...it’s functional since I surf.....just ask my wife every time something shows up to the house shipped and she goes “ what did you buy for your truck now??”....
I have to compensate to let her go shoe shopping.....she’s a hot Russian so it’s a good trade.
    Regardless....I get your point.
But I don’t do things for other’s opinions....I might ask for an opinion but many times I do the opposite since that’s just verification for me why I chose to do what I did.
It’s like when I had my 2016 TRD MGM with a orange ARE Overland cap...I thought it looked good...being partly color blind....wife was like “Really?”....posted on here it was like 50/50. I liked it.
She still rode in it....good for me ; )

Well dang maybe we ought to coordinate next year!
The hot springs is pretty cool....quite the drive to get there. Best to go early in the morning...no crowd.
Cool you have been there too.
Crazy that people back in the day would live in such a harsh place!

Yeah I'd be down man. I think it was originally a hospital resort type place for people with skin conditions. It is pretty crazy people lived around there before vehicles. You'd of had to been pretty tough.

Yeah that’s what I heard too.
The people that I stay with have on their land a cave where a witch doctor of sorts lived....and there are a bunch of large round holes in the rock that the Indians 600 years ago used to ground up grain. They also have some pictographs there....there are others behind that main gas store in Study Butte too.
There are also some large ram’s that were imported for hunting back in the ‘50’s that roam all over the place. Really cool.
