Hello all, Jordan here from Titus-Will Toyota.

I'd just like to take the time to address a few issues/topics that have come up in regards to our web page and services here on TacomaWorld.

Firstly, I'd like to note that I no longer work in the parts department, and I no longer run our web page. My GM here saw a lot of the wonderful things you had to say about both myself and the dealership and ended up giving me a position in service and a Service Adviser that exclusively handle aftermarket parts and accessories for new and used vehicles.

That being said, I will no longer be handling the internet orders unfortunately. I however will still try to maintain the TacomaWorld page as much as I can. This was my own personal venture so I'd like to keep it that was as much as possible.

Second: Our parts website is currently down. Toyota just made a statement regarding parts website platform. We can no longer choose our own 3rd party web page provider to sell our parts. Starting very soon, all Toyota dealerships must all use the same 3rd party provider in order to catalog and sell parts online. Because of this, I had to cancel our old website service that was through Revolutionparts.com and await further instruction from Toyota until we can get a new web page up and running.

Lastly, all that being said, I will still try to be on here as much as possible to answer questions when I can. This new position keeps me quite busy, but I will try my hardest to be able to get on and serve you to the best of my ability. If you do still want to purchase anything from me I can take order over the phone if need be and still ship them out just the same :)

    -Best Regards,

    Jordan Owings

Toyota doesn't want to admit it, but they are essentially trying to run a Monopoly. So rather than there being 5 different webpage providers, there will only be one for all Toyota Dealers.

Each individual dealership will still be able to set there own pricing and customize their web page however they please, but instead of being able to choose which company they want to work with, Toyota doesnt give us a choice any longer :/

I think the term you’re looking for is governance. Toyota is standardizing the customer experience and laying the foundation for dealership. Having been all over the country and seeing several different Toyota dealership websites I can’t say I’m surprised by this at all.

This is why Taco Bell menus and restaurants look the same, KFC, etc.

It’s not a monopoly, it’s a brand. Toyota owns the name and they can control how the content is delivered.

I’ll say...welcome to the world of IT and cyber security. That’s what it boils down to. With data breaches a frequent as they are, as a company, do you want some 3rd party representing you when yours and your customers data gets breached or would you like to have some control over it?

I'm sorry if you feel that way, but as I stated... I started a new position. So I haven't been on TacomaWolrd every single day, 20 times a day like I usually was 6 months ago. I really didn't mean to have an interruption in service but I volunteered for this job of dealing with TacomaWorld, so when I switched positions I didn't get back onto Tacoma World right away. I would never mean to make anybody feel like they are purposley being ignored.

The only reason I would even slightly disagree with what you said is because Toyota still isn't maintaining their own parts websites. They are still using a 3rd party company to create and sell their products. So rather than their being 4 or 5 companies like revolutioparts, partsites, smartparts..... now there is only one.

I sat in on the video conference and they acted like we had a choice, but when it comes down to it, in the fine print, it shows clearly either we comply with what toyota national wants, or we cant sell parts. So I am more or less upset with the way they presented it to us, kinda tried to sweep it under the rug.

Though I do fully understand where you are coming from, and you do have very valid points. I am not saying you are incorrect by any means, just sharing my viewpoint.

    Congrats on the new job.

From my experience, the toyota parts sites / diagrams are very difficult to find parts. Just trying to find wiper blade inserts on my taco (not the whole arm /assy) was a pain. Its easier for me to find lawnmower parts for my Scag than something easy on the taco. Hopefully they fix this.

I'm just giving you a hard time. :D

We talked 5-6 times about some parts. Remember the gas tank vent tube I wanted to return? My emails kept getting lost?
