Scored on my camper shell

Went to look at a camper shell for the tacoma today after searching for a year, color matched truck perfectly, we bolted it on and after a 4 hour round trip i seen the model number and it turned out to be a leer 100 xL model, i figured it was the cheaper 100r model so that was a bonus 600 bucks, i would of got no matter what model because it looks new

These were actually taken for insurance when some idiot rear ended me. I took the 2k and didn’t repair the truck. I’ll be doing it myself and also adding a plate bumper down the road.

My canopy before this one also had the flat glass hatch. Does the rubber strip scratch the tailgate paint?

 

Shit, you mean that little dent in the left side of the bumper? that's like paying yourself for driving a truck

 

It hasn’t yet. Doesn’t fully touch the tailgate paint though, just touches the top plastic guard thing.

 

My wife was with me and was so pissed, I instantly started smiling and was like oh fuck yea. I have been waiting to get rear ended haha. It dinged the bumper and bent all brackets in, dented the tow hitch so they priced in a new OEM one. I couldn’t be happier haha.

 

I’d love one of these for my radiant red taco. Haven’t found one yet

 

The great thing is when i bought it we just throwed it on and tightened the 4 clamp bolts, i figured i would have to take it back off and put a new seal on it, rained all day and dry as a bone, suppose to get close to 3" of rain by tommorrow night, if its still dry ill stick a fork in it and call it good. Wow it looks so different with the shell on it, kind of like a little elegant a little rugged dam it makes it look more like an overland series truck, yippy

 

Which area you from maybe we can help you find one, a great member on this forum told me about this one and im forever grateful.

Dam E30 was it still smoking when you got it lol, that was a heck of a deal and the combo looks great, i put a silver topper on my first gen red tacoma and it looked great.

 

Lol. I found it in Vidalia GA and did a 10hour round trip drive for it. Worth it. Lol
