hey guys, got a serious question for yall.

I have an offer for 21 flat rate hr at South Austin Kia...........I live in round rock which means 40 min in the morning but 60-80 min to home at night.

right now I get 17 flat rate (utter shit) and it takes 15-20 min to and from work everyday....

South Austin Kia is right off the 35 for those of you that don't venture out there and I have to cross the river........I've been told that you never want to cross the river more than once for work.......

what would you guys do?

 

That's a tough call man.

Maybe try and use that offer as some kind of leverage with your current employer.

Honestly, that's a pretty good journey and you will be pissed about the commute. At least I would.

 

There are folks I work with (35 and Woodward) that live in Georgetown and deal with the same commute. They bitch about it, but they do it.

Does the dealership own anything closer to your home? Is there a possibility that you could transfer to a closer location after proving yourself?

it is group1 automotive, but the dealers are more or less independent of the corporate link, no transfers unless it is between same dealers like town north Nissan to Round Rock Nissan.

I have that too - I delete rear passengers all the time simply through use of “GTFO.”
