Opinions on the best wax for black paint. Some say Meguires Black Wax, or any carnuba based wax or just plain polish. Suggestions from black Taco owners are greatly appreciated!

Detailing forum is where the clean freaks hang. https://www.tacomaworld.com/forums/detailing.32/

I've had 5 black and two dark blue cars over the years that I took good care of. But products change, so rather than hearing about my past success, head over there and get the current trends.

I'm not a car detail guy that gets crazy into different wax, clay bars, sealant, etc. I use my truck like a truck (hauling air, and schlepping kids around :D), so I wax a couple times a year with Meguir's Nxt Tech Wax. Goes on easy and buffs out with minimal effort. Just watch the black trim.

zaino brothers. Very easy to apply, lasts a long time. Do some online research, you'll find lots of praise and the only complaint is the price.
Plan on spending $100 to get everything you need. You will be happy, trust me.

Neither am I, but when I do wax I want something that's easy to use, make the black paint look great and will last (because I only plan waxing twice a year) I have found it almost impossible to make the black look as good as when I took delivery

Ceramic coat it and make sure it's a good qualified detailer that knows what they're doing. Foam cannon and power wash it off and use a leaf blower. Every 2-4 weeks you do need to wash it by hand, depends where you live. A lot of videos on YouTube how to maintain it.

A lot of people on here says its not worth it or snake oil cuz it's expensive and don't have 1st hand experience. But if you want your truck looking brand, Hydrophobic, show car look, new every time you walk outside, this is for you. Bird poop and bugs come off with ease, you see dust and dirt fly off while power washing it. Your paint will feel smooth to the touch.

I always have the compliments of why is your truck so clean, how do you maintain it clean 24/7 etc etc. Even when I don't wash it for a month it looks clean and it stays outside not in a garage.

I Have a black Audi that's stupid hard to maintain. I wash it and clay it etc etc and it's looks filthy in the next 24/48 hours.

A wax and sealant is always a good choice though.

I use Duragloss Aquawax when I'm drying my truck after a wash. My black paint looks night and day different than when I drove my truck off the lot 2 years ago. Black, wet, glassy look.

    No mods whatsoever!
Picked up some Cherry Wet Wax from Chemical Guys. I haven't applied it yet. Coming from Meguire's products.

Easy to use, shines like new, and lasts a long time. Hmm. When you find this magic serum, let me know!!

Well I was keeping this a secret but Meguiar's Fast Finish is the berries! I may never rub wax on/off again.

Then Duragloss Aquawax after each wash. Don't get any easier than that.
