December 2011:

My first Christmas as a licensed driver, and that time I had a spare strand of Christmas lights after decorating the house...



Unfortunately, my mom made me take them off the same day...

 

And here's a random picture of me, in my Tacoma, in the parking lot of what was at the time my future place of employment...

This was taken in either 2011 or 2012...

 

December 2012:

A year later, despite my mom's disapproval, I used the excess Christmas lights to decorate my Tacoma again!



This time, I left them on through Christmas break, which proved to be a mistake because all of that packing tape was a bitch to peel off of the plastic bed guards...

My future boss wanted to something unique with regards to decorating the bar for on the last show before Christmas, something that no other bar in town would have thought of. I told her that I'd decorated my Tacoma for Christmas, and suggested that I park the truck in the alley outside the venue with the lights on...

To my surprise, my boss approved of this idea!

The indoor/outdoor set was carefully strung through the rear slider, with the sliding glass closed carefully so the cord wouldn't be damaged. When driving, I ran the lights off of a DC inverter plugged into the cigarette lighter, but obviously operating the lights for three or four hours solely on the battery had the potential to drain the battery.

So, the sound guy provided a heavy-duty indoor/outdoor extension cord, which I ran through the driver's window as seen below and plugged the lights into. The extension cord was then plugged into one of the bar's many wall outlets, and the sound guy covered it with a red carpet so nobody would trip over it...

 

Some donuts, a large hot chocolate, a Primo hoagie, some cookies, some Root Beer, and some orange soda...

 

One time a barback who used to work at my bar, who happened to be lactose-intolerant, ate grilled cheese for lunch and then used the very same bathroom right after eating...

No, what he did to that poor toilet has nothing to do with why he no longer works there!

One of my jobs is to clean and stock the venue bathrooms at the bar where I work...

Another favorite pastime of mine is to let one (or two, or three) rip in the women's restroom when I'm done cleaning it, make myself scarce, and then laugh at the mere thought of one my female coworkers walking into my lingering fart cloud and blaming another female coworker for it!

 

Oh man I bet that caused some hella good shitter time.

While we're on the topic of bathroom stories...

My parents and I were driving somewhere a few years ago (I think it was down to Virginia, to see family). It was fairly late at night, and my parents stopped at a Hess station to get gas. I really needed to use the bathroom (it was only number one, but I really had to go!). Somebody beat me to the men's room, but I knew for a fact that the women's room was available. Keep in mind that these are single restrooms, and I've used the women's room at other places when the men's room wasn't available. Thinking nothing of it, I proceed to the women's room and reach out to open the door. All of a sudden, the foreign female clerk starts screaming at me about how I can't use the women's room because I'm a guy. I'm tired, I have to take a piss, it's a one-person bathroom, and I honestly cannot comprehend what the problem is. A huge shouting match ensues, with me saying that it's a one-person bathroom, insisting that I really need to go, and asking what the hell problem is. My mom stepped in to break up the argument, and while she did not take the clerk's side, she did tell me to just wait for the men's room. I continued shouting at this by-the-books bitch behind the counter, and that this point the guy in the men's room finishes his business and walks out. Without another word, I go in, pee, and then walk back out to my parents' car while giving the clerk the death stare the whole time...

I still say that I did absolutely nothing wrong, and that establishments really need to have unisex restrooms!

I really feel for the guy...

I'm pretty sure that even though he has a job, he has little to no social life, and he probably spends most of his time at home on the computer outside of work...

Note that I actually asked him politely, just yesterday, to stop sending me these things...



I appreciate the concern, but who the hell is going to read this novel of a message? I certainly didn't...

Like I said, he hasn't done anything to do deserve being fully blocked, so I just blocked him from sending me messages!

 

I lived in the DC metro area for 3 years, and this was Fairfax County Public Schools during the winter...

 

My cousin has a base model 2009 RAV4 4WD with like 55K miles on it. The RAV has a dent in the front bumper from a minor accident that my cousin chose not to get fixed, but other than that I'd classify it as being in good condition. You know...

ICE COLD A/C, cruise control and all power accessories work, radio and CD player work, 4WD works...

This RAV4 was purchased by my cousin's parents for him in like 2013 with extraordinarily low miles, and he hasn't put that many miles on it in the less than five years he's owned it...

The AUX input worked fine at first, but my cousin rarely used it. I finally got my cousin to buy an AUX cord, and that same day when he plugged his iPod into the AUX input, the damn thing seemingly cooked his iPod and he was forced to buy a new one...

Now, my cousin refuses to use the AUX input and uses his Bluetooth speaker to listen to music on his iPod. I think this could be a distraction...

My aunt and uncle (cousin's parents) have a 2009 RAV4 4WD as well, one that they bought new, but it's a Limited model with the JBL sound system. The Limited has the same basic head unit with AUX input, and there are no problems with it...

Any ideas?!?!

 

Honestly, my solution is just to give him (as in for free) the Pioneer head unit I used to have in my 2010 Tacoma, a head unit that cost me $130 back in 2013...
